- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.8Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 37 reviewsAmazing experience! worth the additional km’s from Cape Town (if your driving) to spend a couple of days at Samara. there’s so much diversity and you never feel like your on the ‘Safari conveyer belt’ with dozens of other tourists! In particular our guide ‘Marlin’ was terrific! He went out of his way to do everything to ensure we had a wonderful all-round experience.Guest review byAlastairUnited Kingdom
- From US$51.59 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 161 reviewsThe hosts were superb. Informative, kind and helpful. My first time in Graaf-Reinet and I arrived late at night. Imelda and Beau were kind enough to meet me off the bus. South Africa is not the place for a novice to wander around at night! Room was very comfortable. I had all the facilities I needed. Great stay.Guest review byCJBoarlandUnited Kingdom

The town has a long history and it is very well worthwhile exploring the sights in town as well as the nature reserves nearby. The Valley of Desolation is amazing. Plenty of good places to eat in town. On Sundays the town is very quiet.Guest review byNOELSouth Africa - 10.0
Quaint town, beautiful to walk around.
Quaint town, beautiful to walk around. Tourism was quiet but we had a very enjoyable experience. We will be back. I love that it has farm almost in town, it has that old fashioned back to basics feel. The scenery is spectacular.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
It was easy to find the accommodation.
It was easy to find the accommodation. Graaff - Reinet is a must visit town! I found the staff at 4 Rothman street B & B to be professional, friendly and helpful in particlar due to the fact that I arrived very late. Unfortunately it was only overnight stay. I will visit Graaf - Reinet again to explore more of the town and surrounds.Guest review byLourensSouth Africa - 10.0
Complete break from city life in the best possible way.
Complete break from city life in the best possible way. I can't comment on the restaurants as we chose to braai - I have no words to describe the night sky. The stars were breathtaking. The Owl House is a must see. Sadly we ran out of time for the fossil museum and the Stone People. We will definitely be back.Guest review byAnonymousSouth Africa - 10.0

We enjoyed our lunch at Maria's café as well as dinner at Coldstream Restaurant and visited the Graaff-Reinet Museum. We also browsed through local small business shops and bought very delicious dried fruit at Kamdeboo Slaghuis. The highlight of our visit to Graaff-Reinet was most definitely our stay at the Drostdy Hotel with superb breakfast. The friendly hospitality of the well trained staff stood out. We will definitely visit Graaff-Reinet again in near future.Guest review byChris - 8.0
Time seems to have stopped in Nieu Bethesda.
Time seems to have stopped in Nieu Bethesda. It is refreshing and humbling to see how simply people live and yet how full their lives are - there is colour and mystery and warmth and friendliness everywhere you go. A few days here reminds one of what is important - goodness and kindness and faith and gratitude and relationships... and GREAT food!Guest review byGlendaSouth Africa
