FAQs about hotels on Martha's Vineyard
A Summer Retreat Off Cape Cod
The charming island of Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, also known as The Vineyard, is a famous summer colony situated south of Cape Cod on the Atlantic Ocean. Popular with keeping low-profile celebrities, the island is a perfect destination for beach relaxation, fishing trips and hiking the cliffs.
Accessible only by planes and boats, Martha’s Vineyard is a peaceful oasis, where one can truly rest in a no-fuss atmosphere and fantastic summer weather. You can start your Vineyard experience in Oak Bluffs, town in the north-east part of the island, known for its Victorian-style cottages and a beautiful harbour.
West from Oak Bluffs, there is Vineyard Haven, the main entry port of the island and during summer, one of its most populous tourist destinations. There you can rent a 4x4 and drive to see the Vineyard’s lighthouses, including the Gay Head Lighthouse in Aquinnah located next to the cliffs going by the same name.
Other island activities include horseback riding, cycling, golfing and, of course, sailing. You can practice the latter in Martha’s Vineyard’s town of Edgartown, an old whaling port and the location for the filming of Steven Spielberg’s Jaws.
Arriving at the Martha’s Vineyard Airport you’re just a short drive from all the attractions. Booking.com offers a wide choice of properties on the island: from hotels on the beach to accommodation with a pool.

- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.9Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 67 reviewsJust left Charles & Charles in Vineyard Haven, Martha’s Vineyard on our tour of the States. What an absolute gem of a place and really pleased that we booked here. Thank you to all the team there, you made us feel very welcome and went that extra mile. The location was great being only 5 minutes walk down to the SSA Terminal where the free electric island buses stop. Talking of transport grab one of the free bikes offered by Charles & Charles and explore some of island bike routes. The hotel is set in gorgeous gardens with comfortable seats where you can chill out and catch some sun. We weren’t brave enough to try the pool but we were visiting a week before the island season starts. Our suite was spotless, comfortable and reflected the Island’s nautical background perfectly in the decor. Tea and coffee was supplied and re supplied each day. We had plenty of towels, large walk in shower offering hot water always with toiletries on hand too. Little touches like fresh flowers in the kitchenette and a chilled bottle of wine probably sum up just what the standards are at this hotel. Breakfasts were just fabulous! After the first morning we were looking forward to what the next morning would bring. The breakfasts were a combination of freshly baked blueberry muffins/scones and lemon pastry with fresh juice or smoothies, nicely poached eggs on rosti or polenta cake and fresh fruit. A big shout out to Charles - thank you for the recipes, something to try when we get home.Guest review byDuncanUnited Kingdom
- From US$452.66 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.6Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 57 reviewsFirst, Abby and the staff were beyond courteous. In the post-Covid days, its rare to see the level of customer service this beautifully kept inn offers. My favorite part was the delicious breakfast served every morning. The wrap around porch is such a delightful place to sit, finish your tea, and read. We slept soundly with no outside noises interrupting our slumber. We will definitely be returning!Guest review byJANEUnited States

July and August are busy , crowded peak times with great festivals. Book your stay way in advance! The town has lots of restaurants, bars, stores and clean beach. Nice small town , like most of Martha’s vinyard .
Nice small town , like most of Martha’s vinyard . It’s a bit in the woods, but that added to rustic feel. Just don’t do Nana’s treehouse until they fix the ant problem and put better curtains in the bedroomGuest review byChristopherUnited States - 8.0
Vineyard Haven was our least favorite part Martha's Vineyard...
Vineyard Haven was our least favorite part Martha's Vineyard we thought there was much more to do in Oaks Bluff and Edgartown. but it is an easy island to get around on so the location was not an issue.Guest review bywilliamUnited States - 10.0
There are a lot of things to see and do on the Island.
There are a lot of things to see and do on the Island. We were there for a wedding and stayed 3 days, but we could have stayed a few more in order to take in the Edgartown side of the Island. The cliffs at Aquinnah are stunning. The history of the area is very interesting and the shop owners near the lighthouse are very knowledgeable and friendly.Guest review byJosephUnited States - 10.0

The people are very friendly and quite helpful!
The people are very friendly and quite helpful! It's a beautiful everywhere! The Gingerbread Houses were spectacular! The food was superb. I bought the most delicious potpie I've ever had at a nearby farm store that I wish I could remember the name of. I also had the most moist and crunchy cod fish and chips ever. This was my very first trip to the island (that's why I can't remember the names, but I stayed at The Frankin Hotel Martha Vineyard, which everything was within walking distance from everything and I'll be returning throughout the new year and I plan on staying in Edgartown!!! Can't wait for spring!Guest review byB - 4.0
Terrible odour in unit and in desperate need of updates.
Terrible odour in unit and in desperate need of updates. Ants are crawling everywhere and floors are not levelled! Location and size of place is good. Hosts were unresponsive when these issues were raised. Would not recommend this place.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
Oak Bluffs has something for everyone.
Oak Bluffs has something for everyone. Lots of great restaurants, the Flying Carousel for families, a beautiful Town Common to sit and enjoy the sites. Lots of lovely homes with gorgeous gardens. We really enjoyed Biscuits Restaurant for Breakfast, Nancys on the water for lunch and really loved the Midnight Tacos restaurant for late night drinks and delicious food.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0
Depending on how you like to vacation, this is a very good...
Depending on how you like to vacation, this is a very good spot. It was close to all of the day trips we wanted to do. Our rental was like staying in a small house. This was helpful because we were on a 3-week trip and had over packed to begin with. We had looked at a camping ground, but the extra amount of 'stuff' we would have needed would have been overwhelming. It's vacation spot, so you will have to deal with traffic, but it wasn't as bad as Route 80 in Jersey at rush hour. There were a number of good restaurants, but the kitchen in the rental made it the best between eating out and eating in.Guest review byJoseph
