This is an exceptionally beautiful place which has been prepared with great care. Rooms feel like an oasis, service is helpful and friendly and the location, with views onto the volcano as well as the crater lake are breath taking. First of all the place was beautiful, the view on the lake, surrounded by nature. It's a small paradise. The staff is really kind and after extending multiple times, I still found it hard to leave!

I didn't like it at all. It was the most expensive hotel I paid in Nicaragua, and it has the poorest service. The price did not go according to the facilities and customer service.

This place is a DREAM. We have visited Laguna de Apoyo a few times in the past, and have stayed in different hotels. San Simian was a lot better than the others. It had access to everything we needed, AND it was a lot more quiet, it had lots of shade and beautiful gardens. There is a hike to the Catarina Mirador 100 m away from the hotel, which was a bonus. You wake up every morning with the sounds of monkeys, birds, squirrels and a beautiful view of the water. You can order a coffee thermos and have it ready for you when you wake up in the morning, before breakfast, so you can enjoy it in your room or in the hammock outside your room, or by the lake. The shower in the cabin we stayed in was open concept. What a lovely experience to take a shower under the stars! There is always warm water, which is a plus in Nicaragua The food is delicious, the staff are friendly and extremely helpful. Daniel, the server is always ready to help with whatever you need. Daniel, the owner is amazing, He has lots of great information about the area, and about other places to stay in Nicaragua. He is always making sure that you are well taken care of, and he takes great care of his staff. We are already planning out next stay at San Simian. Can't recommend it enough!

A beautiful stay in family home. Comfortable room and air conditioning right bt the courtyard and pool. All very friendly and helpful and even gave us a lift to the bus station when we left.
