Perfect location for travelling to the airport. Just a 5 min drive away. But for activities (like going to the beach) it is a bit too far unless you have a car. But they also do taxi services. For the rest: very clean, good restaurant, friendly personnel, comfortable and large rooms.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at KOA and it was nothing short of exceptional. I selected Ferney as it was the closest hotel available to the airport and the nature reserve looked beautiful. I was unfortunately only able to stay for one night and arrived very late so was not able to do any of the walks or activities although the looked very nice. Ferney was helpful in arranging a driver to collect me from the reception in a 4x4 to take me to the lodge at 9:30pm as my flight came in late. They served me the full dinner and spared no details which was well received. Dinner was smoked marlin starter, amazing venison steak with mashed potatoes, veg and salad with brownie and coconut ice-cream. The bed was very comfortable, air conditioning appreciated, and there was absolute silence because of the remote nature of the property. Breakfast had a lovely spread of fresh fruit, yogurt, cold meats, cheese, jams and toast. You get an individual basket of two freshly baked croissants and pain au chocolate. Eggs of your choice were made to order. In my tiny time there, without venturing at all, I saw manycbirds, a rabbit and a mongoose. All staff were very pleasant, friendly, and went the extra mile. It is not the typical Mauritian beach holiday but a nevertheless wonderful, nature-filled experience.

The Shanti Maurice exceeded all our expectations. The property is gorgeous and pristine. That said, it's the staff here who really make this place a dream vacay. We booked a suite and were upgraded to a private villa, which meant a butler was assigned to take care of our every need. Amal was amazing. Nothing was too much or too little for him to organise. He, like everyone else at the resort, made us feel like we were the only ones there. The kids club is next level, with a varied range of activities to suit the preferences of all the little people.. Even when there were no other kids there, the ladies at the kids club arranged and customised activities just for her. A special mention goes to Sheila and her gracious staff in the Stars restaurant and to Krishna (guest driver) who made every excursion and transfer a pleasure, and Brice, the GM, who took genuine interest in connecting with guests. We can't wait to go back!
