The hotel is very well connected to Hakata Station via underground walkway. The direct elevators to the rooms are literally located in the station’s basement floor so all you need is your keycard and viola. The hotel is very new, modern and has very good sized rooms with spacious bathrooms and great amenities. The TV also has Apple TV so you can watch your favorite shows without worrying for bedtime or while eating in the room. There are a lot of food options (in and around Hakata Station), a Starbucks next door, two Lawsons and a Family Mart just around the corners. The staff were amazing and polite and spoke very good English so you don’t have to worry about the language barrier. Thank you for the amazing service and treatment.

Yanagawa is famous for its Unagi i e grilled eels with a sweet soya sauce. It also has a beautiful canal and you can take a trip down the canal on a boat . It feels like the Venice of Japan. It is a small township and you can walk around the canal to the little shops and eateries. It is far from the bustling cities of Japan and has its own charm.

Fukuoka City offers a lot for travellers who like the city feel, but not necessarily how crowded Tokyo is. There’s many cultural sites within Fukuoka and surrounds if that’s what you like as well. I love Fukuoka. There’s many other part of Kyushu that Fukuoka offers easy access to as well.

Fukuoka, (Hakata) is a lot less crowded than Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto. There is a ferry terminal where you can ride a ferry to Busan, S. Korea if you like. The Shinkansen train station is in the central part of town making transportation very easy and the subway system is not insane to use like Tokyo. Prices for food are very reasonable and there are many different restaurants to enjoy. Day or night, Fukuoka is a lovely, safe and enjoyable place.
