FAQs about hotels in Sicily
An Island of Intrigue
The largest Italian island, Sicily has long been a place of mystery and intrigue, coveted by civilisations. Its Greek history is most evident at Agrigento whose UNESCO World Heritage-listed Valley of the Temples has amazingly well-preserved Greek temples.
Also important to Greece was Siracusa. Archimedes was born here and there is a theatre and necropolis to explore. However, the most spectacularly located Greek theatre is at Taormina. Set on a hill overlooking the glorious Mediterranean Sea, this theatre points towards Mount Etna smoking away in the distance above Catania. Picturesque Taormina is one of the most popular Sicily resorts and down below there are some wonderful Giardini Naxos hotels on the beach, available on Booking.com.
Another resort boasting some of the best Sicily hotels for families is fabulous Cefalù. Home to a lovely beach, this small town is dramatically located at the foot of a mountain. To the north-west are the Aeolian Islands (also known as the Lipari Islands), volcanic islands with plunging cliffs and secret coves.
Back on the main island, the capital Palermo is a seductive mix of amazing architecture and laidback life. Trapani to the west is known for its salt flats, whereas Messina to the east is where trains drive straight onto the ferry to Reggio Calabria on the Italian mainland.

- From US$304.57 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 2,046 reviewsThe view and location of this hotel is amazing. We had the economy room and the room with sea view, and both were fantastic. Terrace/balcony were spacey, with different but great view. The private beach section was great, with very nice cliffs. We had two great experiences in the hotel restaurant, which had good value menues with great food, fantastic view and great service providing excellent wine offering. Nice lounge areas and fascillities indoors and outdoors. For us the location was great a bit outside Cefalu, but in walking distance (a very scenic walk). We would love to come back!Guest review bySindreNorway
- From US$600.43 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 2,229 reviewsGreat location if you like chilling by the private beach or by the pool area on the rocky cliff, sipping drinks and waving at the boats that are passing by. It may be a bit far from main streets and restaurants of Taormina, but the shuttle bus takes you there every 20 mins, and the reception will get taxi at any time. Perfect place for enjoying amazing view of Etna, and beach side of Naxos, and would recommend this facility to any of my friends and families.Guest review byjdosSouth Korea
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.2Very good - What previous guests thought, 750 reviewsDon’t repeat our mistake 😀 The hotel has an elevator to get to the hotel. We walked 700 meters in the heat. I liked the place, interior, pool, beach and breakfast. Also, you should add 5 euros per night to get access to the pool and beach for two hours with sun-beds and umbrella. We didn’t have our towels, but you can leave a deposit of 10 euros and they will provide it for you. You will get the money back after you check out.Guest review byLanaGeorgia

Great restaurants, shops, galleries and buildings.
Great restaurants, shops, galleries and buildings. Monreale is well worth a visit, just beautiful! The Massimo theatre was amazing, we went to the opera 'The Barber of Seville', a wonderful experience! Easy to walk around Palermo but watch the traffic when crossing the roads! Also paths in a bad state of repair so watch your step! Palermo is truly beautiful, a pity the bins always seemed to be overflowing!Guest review byNualaIreland - 10.0

Trapani is a small city which deserves exploring and getting to know. Lots of hidden gems and beautiful sights. The Museum of Optical Illusions is great. Trapani is a good base for exploring the area by car or public transport. Our half day trip to Erice was wonderful; another day on a boat excursion to the Egadi Islands truly memorable.Guest review byJackieMalta - 10.0

Immerse yourself in Sicily's history with a visit to Agrigento. From the breathtaking Valley of the Temples, visiting the home of writers Luigi Pirandello, Andrea Camilleri and Leonardo Sciascia to the nearby Turkish Steps, there is always something interesting to see and experience.Guest review byTerenceAustralia - 10.0
Beautiful town, full of life at night.
Beautiful town, full of life at night. Easily walkable, flat streets. Beach is nice and long, with multiple free areas. It's a gorgeous scene with the huge mountains, and lighthouse at the other end. It is definitely more of a touristy feel, as we went in August. Definitely explore up and down the peninsula, as there's excellent beaches and coves to swim at as well!Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Alot of people do not speak english, and everything there including street sign are in ilalian. Had an excustion to the godfather on a hop on hop off bus(green) I had ordered from Get Your Guide and went 2 hours early and the direction they gave us was wrong and couldnt find the place for pick up in mountain. Had no wifi on my phone, even when i paid extra to get itWIFI on my phone. Tried to ask people but on one knew where to go. Traffic was terrible where the address was to pick up. So i ended up not making the excurion, and company is not giving me a refund. Also the rest RISTORANTE SABBIE D' ORO charged us $162.00(euro) for a 1 lobster. They stood over us until we order, couldnt speak english and the menu said 18 euros for a one lobster, thought that was a good price. Pressed us with extra stuff we did not want to order, because we could not understand them. Then we go to pay there system was down and couldnt take no visa or MC. Our bill was $350 eros. We had to go to atm machine and they charged us $75 to take money out of machine. BAD EXPERINCE!!!!!! I would suggest not to go there.Guest review byCindyUnited States - 10.0

I've stayed in 15 or 16 different places in Italy, including five or so in Sicily. Noto is my favourite. OK, quite touristy, but not irritatingly so. I visited in mid-September, so may have been lucky. It has a very easy vibe. Will definitely return for more.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom
