The rooms were so clean and comfortable. we were a family of 7 split across 3 rooms. 2 of our rooms were adjoining so that we could keep an eye on our young children. There were various food options across the three Gardaland hotels, and plenty of entertainment throughout the day for young kids. The staff were amazing - so friendly, particularly Giacomo who welcomed us like family every time we came to the main dining room. Verona is like a mini Florence with beautiful churches and amazing history without the extreme crowds, high prices and extreme touristy feel. It was much easier to get around in, less hectic and overall far friendlier and more fun to visit. The food there was better too and less expensive, more local feeling rather then one big tourist trap. We stayed in the citta alta old town of bergamo on the hill. Beautiful old town with lots of history. Lovely to wander around and sit in the piazzas with a drink. Two beautiful churches to look inside with amazing interiors. Lots of bars/restaurants. You can also get another funicular to go higher again to an old castle ruin with fantastic views. Although I spent most of my time in Venice, I enjoyed the casual walkable surroundings. Good coffee shops and restaurants close by. The bus into Venice took 10 minutes and ran often. We loved Sirmione.
We loved Sirmione. We went to all the places of interest there and to Bardolino for the market. We had a spa day which was just lovely and the spa hotel was only 5 mins walk from the apartment. If we’d have had longer we would have gone to Verona for the day and to other towns on the edge of Garda. Also maybe have done a wine tour.
