Breakfast was the same every day but offered a wide selection. I personally missed having some bacon and pancakes. Dinners are totally worth it, soft drinks are included. There’s a large paid parking area in front of the hotel, and if it’s full, the staff is very helpful. They speak fluent English. Each floor has a terrace with a panoramic view of Balaton, which is a great bonus. In front of the hotel there’s a large pool, and the hotel also has its own private beach, the whole area is very well maintained.Guest review byJoannaPoland

I found service in Balatonfüred uneven. The low point was restaurant Il Lago at the lakefront: despite looking inviting, the service felt dismissive and the prices were high for what we received. The old city centre is a 1000 years old, so it might worth a few walks :) The rest of the it is like any other socialist city. There are some pretty good restaurants around, worth a try, especially when they have traditional dishes. Veszprem is a small city, with some very impressive architecture, and interesting history. Also a nice place to just explore . The area along the riverside which passes the bottom entrance to the zoo then reaches a really nice park is a favoured walk for us . The centre has a good selection of restaurants catering to a variety of tastes and budgets . One thing to be aware of is that lunch is the Hungarian main meal of the day , therefore we have a couple of times tried to get a meal a bit later on the evening , depending on the time of year or day of the week that has sometimes been hard to find . Getting around , we can walk anywhere it’s a compact city . We generally get a lift from family to and from Station, after that we walk , if your fairly fit and can walk for about an hour I think you won’t need public transport but it is available if required . The town is small and quiet-ish.
The town is small and quiet-ish. There are some nice hikes worth taking, especially at sunset. (check the Guard Tower Area and the ) Not sure if it's all year round, but in September many of the restaurants and terraces were closing at 18:00 local time. You can take the long route north to get to Tihany, but the ferry is faster and not that expensive (in 2023 about 10 EUR for 1 car + 1 person).Guest review byClaudiuRomania
