Xanthe is charming: the old town was quaint and picturesque, and the people of Xanthe extremely friendly and helpful. The town is full of enormous plane trees providing beaty and shade, and is circled by dramatic mountains. I was there to settle my son into college, and it feels very folksy and safe, and small-town friendly. I look forward to spending more time exploring in subsequent visits.Guest review byVaughan - 8.0

Limenas is the best location to stay in Thassos especially if you have kids. Everything is near walking distance restaurants and supermarkets. Beautiful beaches. Amazing fresh fish. It's a nice town, but nothing special.
It's a nice town, but nothing special. The beach is huge, and the side facing the harbor is very shallow with quiet water. There isn't a pedestrian area in the town and the traffic near the harbor where most of the taverns are can be quite busy. Potos is a lively town with lots of bars, cafes and restaurants. The beach is large and had sun beds that are usually free with a purchase, and the hospitality staff were friendly and helpful. Potos is a great location and is in near reach to other places, usually around a 10/20 minute drive. It is close to Theologos, Giola and other nice beaches including Notos and Rosogremos (both beautiful beaches). A place to be avoided, small and very crowded. You have everything in one small place, some people may like this, I don't. This location is a gem.
This location is a gem. Beach is awesome, you can travel to other locations, food is out of this world. Value for dollar is magic. The best food for the least cost. How this can be? The souvlaki at ZIAFET GYROS, GRILL, ruined all souvlaki for me. Their staff is out of this world. Unfair. They made us go back night after night, even when we wanted to try other places.
