We stayed at Akre Hotel for 3 nights in July for my bachelorette — a group of 11 girls — and our stay exceeded every expectation! Mrs. Eleni and her team made us feel so special. They even rescheduled their sunset DJ set so we could enjoy it, and went above and beyond to make sure our experience was unforgettable. The views were absolutely stunning — the hotel has prime sunset views! Since it’s a small hotel, it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. Breakfast was lovely, and they made sure to set up a long table for our group each morning so we could all dine together. We even used the gym for a group class and enjoyed massages, which were excellent as well! Overall 10/10 I would go back in a heartbeat!

Everything was perfect, Maria was very polite and helpful, the room was better than the pictures and kept clean daily we have been around a few of the islands now and this one is up the top of best stays, the location was central to everything, very good restaurants and cafes within a 5 min walk. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay. We would stay again

I liked the host Diana. She was very kind and welcoming. She helped us with everything we needed. Left us some cold fruits in the fridge after a long hot day. Facilities are new and super clean. Everything just exceeded expectations. Would definitely visit again if I ever come back to Naxos. 10/10!

We stayed here for four nights, and it was truly a lovely experience. From the beginning, we felt incredibly welcomed — the owner and her mother were both so kind, thoughtful, and always ready to help with anything we needed. The room was clean, comfortable, and very well maintained, with everything we could possibly need for a relaxing stay. We especially appreciated the peaceful atmosphere and the authentic local touches throughout the property. The location was great, close to the beach and not far from the center, but still quiet and perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. And the cherry on top was the pool — beautifully kept, with an amazing view that made every swim feel like a moment of pure peace. We loved spending time there. We’re very happy we chose this place, and we wouldn’t hesitate to come back. Thank you for your warmth and hospitality!

Really beautiful accommodation, looked exactly like the pictures! Rooms were very spacious, clean and modern. The outdoor area of the hotel is also very neat - beautiful greenery, large pool and swing-beds. Also the location is perfect. In a short walking distance you'll find rental services, supermarkets and restaurants. The bus stop is right in front of the hotel. And it's only a short walk to the beach. A huge bonus was also the lovely family who run the hotel. We had a very warm welcome and were provided with helpful information during our stay.

Travel Back in Time

Known for its crystal clear azure waters and impressive winds, the beautiful tourist destination of Naxos is the largest and greenest island of the Cyclades. This unique place is a popular choice with watersports and history lovers.

Composed of Venetian and Cycladic elements, the traditional old town of Naxos (also known as Chora) has an imposing Venetian castle. Built in the 6th century BC and dedicated to Apollo, the iconic marble gate of Portara is located just outside the town, overlooking the Aegean Sea.

Rich in history, folkloric tradition and fine wine, the mountain village of Apeiranthos with its marble houses is one of the biggest villages of the island.     Amazing hotel in a great location, super friendly staff that made our stay as comfortable as possible, spacious rooms even with the baby cot, large and comfortable beds and a good sized private heated pool. Towels for both the pool and the beach were provided and free coffee capsules and tea bags in the room as well as water. Breakfast had a variety of tasty dishes to choose from. A bottle of wine with a cheese platter compliments of the hotel on arrival and a bottle when checking out were really appreciated! Room service was top and the Tanines restaurant worth a visit at sunset.

    Everything! The apartment was beautiful and clean. We had two bedrooms and a big balcony/terrace. Also the kitchen was well equipped (for ex. fridge-freezer )enough to cook simple meals. Also the washing machine was useful in two weeks’ holiday. The owner was really helpful and the hospitality was very touching. We also liked the location in a quiet neighborhood among the locals. Still short walk to the beach, port and town. Wifi was good. And the cherry on a top: breakfast basket every morning straight to the door! We’ll definately meet again!

    Very friendly staff, daily cleaning - I never hesitate to walk barefoot in any apartment, but here I could because it was exceptionally clean! The bathroom was amazing, and the terrace provided a truly private experience. The beach and bus stop are conveniently located, and there is a well-equipped supermarket nearby. Agia Anna is a charming village with numerous restaurants and cafes to explore.

    Naxos Chora is a wonderful place to visit for a short while. The older/medieval part is a labirinth of alleys, well worth wandering around and discovering art galleries and shops hidden away. The front is full of taverners catering for all tastes, but it can get very busy. Alternatively you can walk away from the front to have a calmer meal in one of the excellent family taverners. St Georges beach is nearby, a nice sandy bay, with a long slope out into the sea. There is easy access to the ferry terminals, but a taxi will be required to get to and from the airport.

    I’d say 3 days is enough time here. We stayed where we were as it’s close to the beach and amenities, we didn’t travel elsewhere as it was 25 euro each way in a taxi to the port. We did want to get a quad bike but forgot a listener. Id recommend a few days here and also going to another island and a few days in Athens too. We went to Syros also which was less touristy in a great way.!

    I recommend hiring a quad bike to explore more beaches and the inland areas. This location is very good for if you have a quad bike as you can travel between the old town and the beaches along the coast on the other side, as well as inland. Quad hire is very reasonably priced and the company we used is very nearby. This is a lovely peaceful area. Groceries are a little expensive and there is a bigger supermarket than the one on the corner that has some more options. There are many lovely restaurants a very short walk from the accommodation, along the beach. A few have seating on the actual sand which is really special and romantic for couples.

    Stelida is a purpose built hilltop penninsula for accomodation and walking distance to a lovely beach if the north wind is not blowing. Only two restaurant options to walk to at night but it has easy access to hill towns and beaches to the south by car. It's out of the hectic vibes of Naxos Town and very quiet at night so a good night sleep is ensured!

    Mikri Vigla is a quiet town with a couple bakeries and restaurants. Beautiful sunsets and beaches, but you should have a car / moped to get around. The bus from Naxos Chora is infrequent and drops off at the beach, not the town proper.

    We liked the premises and quiet sandy beach. There is free parking on premise and some very good restaurants nearby. Make sure that when you get the sea view room, you ask for the direct and not the side views room.

    Vivlos is conveniently located about ten minutes from Naxos Town and roughly the same to local beaches. There are four or five local taverna's selling simple, good value, Greek food. The bakery is excellent and there is also a small supermarket and butchers. It's a good base from which to explore the island with walking trails marked out from there

    Near Moutsouna on the eastern coast of Naxos, a small house for two people nestled in the peaceful countryside. In the morning, the sounds of buzzards echo, and you can admire the flights of peregrine falcons in a deep blue sky. In the evening, the bells of goats and sheep create a bucolic atmosphere. Nearby, there are beautiful, secluded sandy beaches (Psili Amnos) and pebble beaches (Azalas). Matthew and Giannis are extremely kind and helpful hosts, welcoming their guests with genuine courtesy and delicious produce from their small garden. We spent 12 truly special days. About 12 km south of the house, from the beautiful beach of Panermos, you can daily embark for the splendid Koufonissi.

    A wonderful place with so much to see.

    A wonderful place with so much to see. A peaceful place full of history. Portara is beautiful both day and night, and even more so at sunset. With a few tours, you can reach Delos, a wonderful island full of history! Near the port of Naxos there are very nice restaurants and pubs for all tastes. The market streets with all the shops are also very suggestive. Tours of the island are also highly recommended.
