Loved the town, daughter has her heart set on Hallam uni now. Keep an eye on which way you walk in and out of the city from the hotel as there were dodgy areas, like any city. Loved the fact that the centre is almost all pedestrianised. Had a fab meal in Bella Italia.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Lots to do - food good at Chakra Lounge and Simply Thai. Lovely buildings to visit - the Park, Theatre and Opera House brilliant. Close to Manchester with short train journey which we used to visit was an added bonus. Great for families and couples alike.Guest review byTrevorUnited Kingdom - 6.0

Chesterfield is close to lots of other beautiful towns and villages and of course the fantastic scenery. Chesterfield is a large place and for us, we prefer the smaller towns like Bakewell and Matlock, but there is everything you need in Chesterfield and a great place to visit the surrounding areas of the Peak DistrictGuest review byPatriziaUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Nice town surrounded by beautiful scenery.
Nice town surrounded by beautiful scenery. Lots of choice for food/drinks and easy access to all activities the Peak District has to offer. Matlock Bath is very pretty but it's chaotic and with all the amusement arcades and chippies it feels a bit like Skegness.Guest review byCatherineUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Bakewell itself for me is a very expensive, wealthy area for accommodation, food, car parking and souvenirs but for a walker, it is close to some marvellous walking paths. I would recommend it for a weekend or a few days break.Take your local map, camera and binoculars.Guest review byJeffreyUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Small town, as a good base-location to walks to Mam tor (and back), the various Caverns (ticketed entry mostly), and the Cave Dale - a beautiful picturesque rocky trek with extremely steep slopes either side. Nearest train-station is at Hope which is a little over a mile's walk. Views of Mam Tor and sorrounding cliffs are amzingly breathtaking from this town.Guest review byKunalUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Stockport´s location in a ravine with a Victorian viaduct towering overhead makes for a very unusual and intriguing town. Also most interesting are the timber frame houses one finds from Tudor times. Lots of pubs and not generic ones either.Guest review byDominic - 10.0
