La Maison st Clemenceu is truly a place that goes above and beyond expectations. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the attention to detail — everything is thoughtfully arranged, the ambiance is warm and inviting, and the service is impeccable. Pier and his family kind and welcoming Every item we tried was a delight, clearly made with care and quality ingredients. The presentation is as beautiful as the taste. It’s evident that the team here genuinely cares about creating a memorable experience for their guests. Honestly, it deserves more than just 3 stars. This is the kind of place that stays with you — not just because of the flavors, but because of the heart behind everything they do. Highly recommended!

The staff was really friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in a quiet part of the village, surrounded by tall trees and it feels like an old family bastide. We loved the pool too and hearing the cicadas around us. The children loved playing in the hotel park. Breakfast had plenty of locally sourced food and everything was fresh and tasty.

We liked everything about the room and the hotel in general-comfort,design, space, products. Amazing view from the cabin, the terrace, restaurant. Perfect location. The only one missing point was the swimming pool, which is not open yet. We found it really shameful. But otherwise we have spent wonderful time in between friends.

FAQs about hotels in Provence

The Picturesque Land of Lavender and Pastis

With lavender meadows and limestone soils covered with garrigue, the beautiful Provence smells of herbs, flowers and warm mistral winds. This vast French region spreads along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea from the wetlands of Camarque to the peaks of the Maritime Alps.

Famous for its cuisine, picturesque villages and the weather, Provence is one of France’s most popular holiday destinations. People come here to relax under the stunning blue skies and enjoy a slower life pace over a glass of pastis or local wine.

But don’t be mistaken, Provence is as much about the bustling cities as it is about its quiet countryside. Make sure you pay a visit the 2nd largest French city, Marseille, the forever glamorous Cannes or the popular resort of Nice. All of them offer plenty of sightseeing attractions, cultural events and fine dining venues.

For a breath of art and history, stop in Arles, a town full of Roman remains and Van Gogh’s famous artistic inspiration, or Avignon, best known for the stunning Gothic Palace of the Popes - the seat for Western Christianity during the 14th century.

From blue sea to rocky mountains, Provence has something for everyone’s taste. So does Booking.com: over 2000 properties in the region, from hotels with pools to cosy bed & breakfasts for your perfect Provence holiday.

There was so much to see and do!

There was so much to see and do! The History Museum in the Bourse shopping centre was fantastic! The Cosquer Cave was wonderful. We took the boat trip to the Calanques and enjoyed it. It was easy to get around and we used buses and the Metro. The best souvenir store was "Marseille in The Box". 13 Rue Reine Elizabeth. It is opposite the Carrefore store outside The Bourse. The man who runs it has items that are made for him in Marseille and unique items that are not found in the souvenir stores on the waterfront. He also speaks English and has good information about visiting Marseille. Great restuarant: Il Trio, 29 Pl.aux Huiles. In big plaza just behind the waterfront. Delicious and large size platter at a reasonable price.

A stunningly beautiful old town a blended mixture of medieval and 17th century buildings of honey-coloured stone and made all the better because cars are banned from the entire old centre. So all you hear are people's voices . Incredible markets on Tuesdays and Saturdays and a vibrant relaxed atmosphere. One of the most engaging and beautiful towns in France I have visited.

Avignon is great in October.

Avignon is great in October. Not too hot, not overwhelmed with people. I look forward to going back one day, but do yourself a favour and stay in Villeneuve, just outside Avignon. A proper village with real character. Much less expensive and just 1.40 EUR on the frequent buses to get into the heart of Avignon when you want to get there. Oh and parking there is free (unlike Avignon!).

Unfortunately, we only had two nights in our itinerary for Arles. It is a charming and elegant city that really deserves a few more days to explore, relax, and enjoy. The people were very kind and welcoming. Unfortunately, the National Archeological Museum was closed for renovations, so I hope to return to Arles when it reopens.

Enjoyed swimming, walking along the sea front and the ports and having coffee overlooking the sea front. Didn’t really see the uphill historic part, which I regret. The Tourist office at Saint Raphael was helpful as I needed a bus timetable. I’d say you need to be reasonably fit ( or have a car) to stay in the area I was in as in fact buses were few and far between so I did a lot of walking. I was on an Interrail pass so also enjoyed a little side trip out to Nice, which has good and frequent rail links with Saint Raphael.
