Surrounded by mountains, Hotel Fex is set in the car-free Val Fex, at 2000 metres above sea level and 8 km from the Furtschellas-Corvatsch cable car. The main selling point is the location: at the end of the Fex valley. The rooms are not that big, bathrooms are basic (but more than adequate!). The other selling point is that the food and service is very good, really a cut above the rest when compared to simmilar hotels. Can only recommend it.

The family-run Hotel Cervo enjoys a quiet location in Sils-Maria, a 5-minute walk from the Furtschellas Cable Car. It offers Alpine-style rooms, free WiFi and a spa area with sauna. Magnific hotel. The staff were very kind and hospitable. The restaurant in the hotel is great.

Built in a modern Engadine style, this 3-star hotel in the centre of Sils-Maria is 750 metres from the Furtschellas Cable Car. The traditionally furnished restaurant serves Swiss and Italian cuisine. Excellent menu, preparation, and presentation of the evening meals all three days. Also, an extensive wine list. Overall, the restaurant for the evening meals was very good and a good value. Breakfast was suitable but not above average. I seem to recall an extra charge for an egg cooked to order.
