First, the owners are always smiling and welcoming. The flat is pretty big, very clean and nothing is missing. The bed is Just next to a Window through which you see the Sea like 10 meters away. You can hear the sound of the waves while getting asleep! And yes, the location: its like being on a boat, cause the sea is literally there, you can almost touch it. And when you are on the balcony you see it as if it was a painting, framed by the shady foliage of the trees. A couple of stairs and you can dive! An elevator is available, unlike many similarly priced hotels in Ksamil. The hotel is within walking distance to the beach. Center of Ksamil is 10 min walk by the sea. The staff is so pleasant and they really make sure that everything is clean. They clean the room every day and change the towels. Food in hotel is phenomenal. The sea is clean and the staff makes sure the beach is clean of trash and sea grass. The parking is next to hotel so basically you can see your car from the balcony. Ksamil is emerging as a tourist destination & the centre of...
Ksamil is emerging as a tourist destination & the centre of the town at least seems to have opted to cater for those who prefer loud music / water activities on the beaches. That said, there is a good selection of bars & restaurants both in the centre of the town and on the main road into it. The hotel in which we stayed (Area Hotel) was excellent. Public transport is ok - there is a bus every 30 mins to Sarande or Butrint BUT it is packed & an experience in itself! Fares are 150 Lek (1.5 euro) each way. Taxis are available but cost approx 30 euro each way. Although card payment is accepted in most restaurants / hotels etc, it seems as though cash is king in Albania. Ksamil is a very beautiful resort with numerous stunning beaches and crystal-clear azure waters. There are plenty of quality restaurants offering delicious food at reasonable prices. The only drawback is that almost all beach spots are paid, meaning you need to pay for sunbeds and umbrellas. The cheapest spots started at around €15 for 2 sunbeds and an umbrella, while more premium locations charged €30 to €40 per set. Luxury cabana-style spots could cost up to €70 per day. Almost everywhere accepted euros, so it was not necessary to exchange money into the local currency. Alternatively, you could pay in euros and receive change in the local currency (Albanian lek). The beaches are extremely beautiful and clean.
The beaches are extremely beautiful and clean. Renting sunbeds/umbrellas can be quite pricy. If you go in the afternoon they would charge you the same price on some beaches. Driving in Ksamil can be quite hectic. The streets are quite narrow and not all the streets have pavements and on streets where they are present either they are taken up by shops or else the people do not use the land walk in the middle of the road. Be careful if you are driving there especially during rush hour and parking is not easy. The restaurants are really good. We tried a lot of them and the food is delicious and most of them have very reasonable prices. We were always treated nicely from the staff.Guest review byJean PaulMalta
