Our stay here was an absolute highlight of our trip! The room was cozy and comfortable, and everything was sparkling clean. Sondra was incredibly friendly and helpful, going out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed and offering great local tips (including how to get a deal on pizza!) Breakfast was phenomenal—honestly on par with a high-end brunch at a nice restaurant, and such a great deal. We loved sitting down with other travelers, swapping stories about our trips and getting inspired for our next stops. The bathrooms were VERY well stocked with top-quality toiletries—even things I didn’t realize I might need. It was such a thoughtful touch and made the stay feel extra special. And we have to mention the backyard chickens! Watching them from our window was such a joy, and knowing the eggs on our breakfast plates came from those very chickens made everything feel so fresh and personal. From the fresh eggs to all the little thoughtful details, SunStar captured the spirit of what makes staying at a bed and breakfast so special. We would absolutely recommend it to anyone and can’t wait to come back!

Everything… Our host, Laura, was very friendly and eager to ensure her guests had a great stay. She provided helpful driving directions both in writing, as well as posted road signs directing guests to her B&B. She also prepares her guests a great breakfast: eggs, bacon, pancakes, orange juice, and coffee. Laura is very happy to give suggestions of things to do. Our room was clean and warm, the bed very comfortable, with private bathroom, TV, and free WiFi.

The hot shower worked well as well as the electric heater which proved handy in the chilly morning not uncommon in Haines even in the middle of summer.

I truly had the most wonderful stay at this little cabin which, is surrounded by the natural scenic beauty of North Palmer. Michael and Darcy were kind and welcoming hosts. The cabin has been a project that has been meticulously hand-crafted from love and has everything you need for a comfortable stay❤️ I especially loved the upstairs loft bedroom which, looks out to Birch woods at the back of the property and is such a cozy little space to rest for the night. The property is also, in a convenient location which, gives easy access (within a 20 minute drive) to areas of scenic wilderness and natural hiking opportunities like, Hatchers Pass as well as, an array of local amenities/shops in Palmer and other points of interest including, the little Musk Ox Farm which, I visited during my stay. My only regret is, I was not there for long enough to explore properly and will definitely book a longer stay next time😊

Very spacious yet cozy and very well decorated. Definitely felt like a home and not just a quickly thrown together rental. Centrally located in Anchorage as well. Host was attentive and accommodating and would definitely recommend to any group visiting Anchorage!

Menawarkan pemandangan gunung, Home away from Home menawarkan penginapan dengan balkoni dan mesin pembuat kopi, kira-kira 34km dari Hatcher Pass. This was the perfect rental for my family of 6. We had plenty of room for our kids to play and sleep. They loved having TV’s in their rooms. The house was conveniently located for our needs, and was clean. The kitchen was stocked well with all the basics you’d need for cooking/preparing food. The host was responsive to any texts/questions I had. I would recommend this place to anyone.
