It was a hot night and the staff put our beds outside the tents, sleeping under the stars and full moon night was above and beyond our expectations. Camel rides were a little pricey but ya gotta do it. Diner and breakfast were traditional and plentiful. We will be back!

I stayed at the desert camp for one night on my own, and it was truly one of the best travel experiences I’ve had. The camp itself was beautifully set up – very clean, peaceful, and with a truly magical atmosphere under the stars. What made the experience even more special was the amazing driver and guide, Ali. He was incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and made me feel safe and comfortable throughout the entire stay. His passion for the desert and local culture really came through, and he made sure everything was perfect. Even though I was traveling alone, I never felt lonely – just completely relaxed and in awe of the stunning surroundings. Highly recommended to anyone looking for an authentic and memorable desert experience! And the food was really nice too.

A recently renovated luxury tent in Bidiyah, Desert Diamond Private Camp offers outdoor fireplace, private parking and sports facilities. With inner courtyard views, this accommodation provides a patio. The luxury tent features mountain views, a picnic area and a 24-hour front desk. The stay at Desert Diamond Camp was excellent! Sultan picked us up from the meet point and took us to the camp and we were welcomed with a campfire and fresh tea and coffee! The tents were vary spacious, clean and cosy, and the bathroom facilities clean. The next morning we walked to the sand dunes and the children did sand boarding. Sultan especially and the camp staff ensured our stay was comfortable and we highly enjoyed our stay in the desert!

Easy transfer for 5 OMR one way, arranged a little in advance. Dinner was amazing and well worth the money. When we saw the location of most of the other camps-one next to the other..not really in the desert-you really want to stay at a place a little further away from it all like Moon Light Camp. The outside area is very spacious and includes a swimming pool and a garden terrace. The two separate rooms with one double bed and three single beds are great for a family. Hot tub and billiard too. The activities in the desert (dunes bashing at sunset and camel riding) were very well organised. The manager invited us for a campfire to drink tea and eat corn on the cob. We had a fun time under the stars talking through the evening.

Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with an outdoor fireplace. We absolutely loved our stay at Wahiba Bedouins private camp, it more than exceeded our expectations. We spent two nights at the camp as part of a 2 1/2 week trip to Oman. We were met in town by Muhammad, the brother of the camp owner, who is very proud of the camp. We followed him in our 4x4 as he escorted us to camp. Upon arrival we were taken to the sun shelter and were served coffee, dates and refreshments. There was always plenty of food and drink for our entire stay. The camp consists of two guest tents, a dining tent, daytime sun shelter, kitchen tent and bathroom shelter with shower. Everything is done in a traditional way and is spotlessly clean. Muhammad is justifiably proud of his camp and how it is run. We also met Hasan at the camp. He is the camp cook but does much more than that. Hasan has a very engaging personality and always has a smile on his face. He regaled us with stories and answered any questions we had. Did I mention he is an outstanding cook! we enjoyed some of the best meals on our trip at the camp including a camel biryani (sorry vegetarians, plenty of veggie options as well). We chose this camp because it is small and we really wanted to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the desert, and that is exactly what we experienced. another highlight was an excursion to Muhammad’s village/oasis where he has a house and they have date palm trees, mango and other fruit trees, as well as grow alfalfa for the goats and camels. The visit was another highlight as was driving amongst the dunes in the desert. Thanks to Muhammad and Hasan for a truly memorable experience.

Abdullah and his team run an authentic camp oasis in the dunes, with delicious food and copious amounts of coffee and dates. The sunrise camel ride was fantastic and is a must do. The camp staff are the loveliest people you will meet in Oman and they also have the best sense of humour. If you're looking to experience the desert properly then this is the place for you.
