But what makes this place extraordinary is the hospitality, warmth, and genuine care that the team puts into everything they do. Even the small moments show it. One evening at dinner, my plate came with mashed potatoes (which I don’t like). I asked for an empty plate just to separate the food, and while I thought the request had been forgotten, a staff member came back minutes later with a fresh serving of hot rice made just for me! Completely unasked for. That’s the level of thoughtfulness they put into their guests. And then there’s the magic of their special dinners. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday they cook something unique… a different dish every time, prepared with love and served not because they have to, but because they want us to connect, share, and feel at home. They don’t even eat with us; it’s all about creating a space where travelers can gather and build friendships. It’s rare to find a hostel with this much heart and soul. Honestly, it feels less like a hostel and more like a family. The only downside? It’s becoming harder to find a bed because everyone wants to stay here! So if you see availability, don’t hesitate! We really appreciated our stay in the river tent and would recommend every nature lover people to stay at the Namkhan.

Set in the centre of AVANI Luang Prabang, AVANI Luang Prabang boasts a central garden and a 25-metre long swimming pool. Large spacious hotel in central location. The night market is a step away from the hotel but you would never guess as the hotel retains a private and quiet air. There is a central courtyard which contains the pool area, flanked by reception and the restaurant on two sides and the rooms on the other two sides. Breakfast is varied and starts early which is convenient if you have an early tour. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Please use their sunset tour service. It was perfect and worth every cent. I would recommend you have a good camera on hand to take some fantastic sunset scenes.

We actually booked for 3 night in this lovely place. But we enjoyed this place and the time with Vivanh and David so much, that we stayed a whole week there. They gave us a lot of good recommondations about Luang Prabang and we could always use the bycicle for free. Even for my Birthday, they made a great breakfast for me. Thank you, we really enjoyed the vacations and try to come back!
