His grandson Giordano is very hospitable and punctual — he responded to messages immediately and met us upon arrival. The apartment is very spacious and located in a historic building. There’s even a kettle, which is not always common in Italian homes. The location is very central, right inside the old town. There’s free parking about 400 meters away, but you can also stop near the entrance to the historic area to unload your luggage. Parking is free at night. I highly recommend this accommodation to immerse yourself in the history of the city and feel like part of the place.

A buffet breakfast is served each morning, while the restaurant opens on request only and uses local, 0 km, ingredients. Set in a beautiful 100 year old villa our room was perfect. We loved staying at VM. The staff were delightful, funny and very helpful. The room was spacious and very comfortable. Everything we needed was available. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious with warm, fresh focaccia, homemade muffins and cakes, plus fresh cold cuts and cheeses. Eggs cooked perfectly to order and good coffee. Aperitivo in the bar 🍸 👌 😎 🤪 excellent. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Right by a little stone bridge across the river that runs through the hamlet next to Castelnuovo di Garfagnano. Town is a few minutes drive away with a good selection of restaurants, cafes, shops and supermarkets. even a cinema! Johanna was a delightful, albeit virtual, host, and very helpful with suggestions. Be careful of the river though. it can rise very quickly as my daughter discovered and Johanna warned. Beautiful walk up to the fort and back to town. An idyllic part of rural Italy.

Absolutely pure magic! We loved everything about the property, lovely kitchen and mind blowing views! Super comfortable bed and really communicative host throughout our stay! Very communicative host with easy and clear instructions for check-in. Amazing kitchen for someone who loves cooking, and the apartment stayed nice and cool during the very hot summer days! Evenings were well spent on the little terrace with the view taking your breath away. Pure bliss , only wished we stayed longer!
