The staff was amazing too. We were running late for dinner at the hotel and the restaurant was going to close by the time we got there. The Apartment was beautiful, comfortable, featured plenty of windows to enjoy the stunning view of the lake in front and the mountain in the back. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you need, there is even a laundry machine. The location is perfect, right next to Dimmuburgir, Hverir, the cave and of course the lake which benefited us with a beautiful sunset from the kitchen. It wasn't so cheap but worth the money.

With a terrace, the property also features a shared lounge and a fully-equipped kitchen. New building. Spacious common area and large sparkling modern kitchen. Including washer/ drier so you can do laundry while preparing a meal. Ready for a large group. Large bedroom and bathroom with shower. The bedroom opens to a deck. There may be a view. All we saw was snow and fog/ cloud. Iceland was having a late winter to mid-April.

The geothermally heated Mývatn Nature Baths are 18 km away. The surrounding area is popular for bird watching. Iceland’s premier whale watching location, Húsavík, is a 45-minute drive away. Nice staff. Great breakfast with homemade things. Very clean and well equipped, big kitchen.

Lovely little room that gave us a perfect view of the northern lights in the evening. We were also very excited to greet the floofy dog on the property when we went over for breakfast in the morning. Breakfast was very good, and I was very excited they had a waffle maker!

The house is absolutely amazing with very nice decoration and plenty of little souvenirs handmade. We had a great stay and we were able to see the beautiful northern lights as a plus.

The property is non-smoking and is set 9 km from Myvatn Nature Baths. Clearly the best stay we had in Iceland. This is a truly lovely house where you immediately feel part of a family. We were delighted by the warm reception and the cozy, homely atmosphere. The location by the lake is stunning, offering beautiful views. In summer there are many midges, which can be a bit annoying, but that’s the trade-off for such a scenic lakeside setting. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped—you’ll find everything you need, and even some thoughtful extras like coffee and pasta left for guests. It really felt like staying at our grandparents’ home, full of comfort and warmth. A very strong recommendation, especially if you are traveling as a family. We absolutely loved it.
