But it’s not for everyone. If you want to be away from city sounds and pollution, way out in the peace of the countryside among farms and mountain views — and if you are a person who enjoys the ruggedness of tent or A-frame cabin camping, then you will love Wawowow. Alvin has built this off-the-grid retreat himself, adding to it each year. He and his staff are caring and helpful. The well laid out grounds are covered in lawns and most if not all tents and cabins have small brick firepits. Alvin can provide the firewood for them. When I was there a number of people sat around these campfires at night singing and playing guitars. No sound amplification is allowed. Some people chose to stay on the grounds for several days. I used it as a jumping off place each morning to tour different parts of the Tomohon area each day., returning each evening.

The bungalows are beautiful, traditional Indonesian-style, full of charm and comfort. The diving here is world-class, with some of the most stunning marine life we’ve ever seen. If you love diving, this place is paradise. And let’s talk about the food: incredible. Out of the three resorts we visited in Indonesia, this one had by far the best meals. Every dish was delicious, fresh, and varied, a real highlight of the stay. You can also take a nice 30-minute walk through the forest to reach a nearby village, which we really enjoyed, peaceful and easy to do. This place is not just about diving or relaxing, it’s about connection, nature, and genuine people. Highly, highly recommended. I really hope we can come back one day! Arthur & Ella

Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all very good all days - the room was clean and with airco - they help you with boattransfer and transport - The owner took me with him to see dolphins. We saw like 100 dolphins. After that we stopped for two snorklingspots, wich were so beautiful - Homestay is at the beach, when you walk 200m in the water, you van snorkle very good (so many turtles and nice coral) - just an amazing place
