Genuinely helpful staff, dog friendly, comfortable bed and pillows, secure parking, mini walk-in wardrobe area and ample power plugs by the bed for all your tech gadgets.

Mas Pere Pau is located in the natural setting of Bruguers, in Besalú, 5 minutes' drive from the city centre. It offers well-equipped apartments, studios and rooms with mountain and garden views. We loved everything. The location and the property are magical. Room is very nice and comfortable. Staff is so friendly. We will definitely come back one day.

This family-run hotel is located 2 minutes’ walk from the beach in Cadaques Bay. Set in a traditional-style building with blue and white tones, it offers a seasonal outdoor pool and sun terrace. Tucked away from the crowds. Very quiet. Lovely landscape and pool.

Balneari Termes Orion offers a thermal spa. Surrounded by gardens, the hotel features an outdoor pool. Rooms are equipped with air conditioning. Exceptionally friendly staff and I mean every single member of their team. Really beautiful residence, clean and beautiful rooms. Great food.

Els Jardins de la Martana can be found in the historic centre of Besalú, next to the famous Romanesque bridge. It has free Wi-Fi and mountain views. The hotel has only 11 rooms in a large historic house. It is more like what I would call an Inn because it is unique with a lot of charm. It has a wonderful original wood paneled library for guest use as well as the original living room with hand painted wall paper and coved ceiling, also for guest use. Breakfast was served on a lovely outside terrasse as well as in a breakfast room. Various coffees and a large selection of teas were available as well as juices. Lots of sliced and whole fresh fruit. Hard boiled eggs as well as cold potato omelet and bacon, and cold cuts. There was a nice variety of breads, croissants, buns, and cake and several cereals and milk. The hotels location at the end of the picturesque historic bridge which crossed over the river into the medieval town could not have been better. Our room was large, but I may have rented a larger than standard room. The bathroom was very nice. We had a small balcony with two small chairs that I enjoyed sitting on. The staff at the front desk as well as the breakfast room staff and cleaners were all very helpful and friendly. As we are seniors they helped us with our bags and went out of their way to drive us to the bus stop. The hotel also had a spa service if you wanted to indulge.
