Excellent place to wind down after a whirlwind 14-d self drive across South Island. Waipara itself does not have the fanciness of Kimberley or coastal Kaikoura but proximity of Canterbury vineyards makes this a great place to go for walk-thru rather than drive- thru wine tasting along the Hurunui trails.
