Pet-friendly hotels and homes in Meghauli

The homestay was absolutely lovely - Hari's parents and his little cousins are so open and welcoming and the food was so yummy but the biggest highlight of this stay was the Safari walk through the National Park. We saw so many animals that would have been missed if we were in a jeep and Hari's knowledge of all the animals was phenomenal Highly, highly recommend!

Charming family, made me feel at home. They took care of me as if I were a family member, served delicious homemad meals and made me long to return to this amazing place. Manoj is a great and passionate guide, did his best to show me all the beauty of Chitwan. It was very hard for me to leave his homestay, I will definitely come back again.

The family are great, the peace and quiet at the lodge is excellent, the food was very good, and the safaris were amazing. If you are looking for the creature comforts of a resort or hotel then this is not the place for you. The rooms may be spartan but they were clean. This is the place to go if you want to be away from the crowded tourist district, and value some peace and quiet. You will have a large variety of birds around your room, and maybe the occasional jackal at night if you are lucky (don't worry about them, they are great to see and go in the other direction as fast as they can if they see you). The family who own the lodge are all lovely and welcoming, and they supply some great tasting food (the nearest shops are a 10-15 minute walk away. Bishnu from the family who runs the lodge is also the safari guide, and he is great He is a local who truly loves and cares for nature, and who is very knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna. I went out on my first jeep safari within a couple of hours of arriving and to be honest I was not expecting to see much. I would have been happy with a few birds and just seeing the park. What I saw far exceeded that. We spotted our first rhinoceros within a couple of minutes of entering the park and saw several more (up very close). There were dozens of spotted deer, hog deer, gharial crocodiles, mugger crocodiles, macaques, wild boar, and a huge variety of birds. I went on another jeep safari two days later and saw 9 different individual rhinoceros that day as well. Some of them were within n 5 metres of our jeep. On that second safari we also saw plenty more of the other animals I have mentioned, including a huge range of birds, including some migratory species which are rare to see in this part of the world. Unfortunately I decided not to do the canoe ride or the walking safari, but have since been in touch with other tourists I met there, who said that was also a wonderful experience. HIGHLY recommended.

Tiger Wildlife Resort was my home for two weeks. Besides the beauty of the place, perfect for those who seek quiet surroundings, what was truly remarkable is the care I received as a guest here. I felt like a VIP, a princess even, as the owners, Gambir, and the rest of the team, went out of their way to make my stay absolutely perfect. I was given what I believe is the best room on the property, with a balcony facing the park, from which every morning I would see all sorts of animals: deers, rhinos, boars and countless birds (among which peacocks and black storks and openbills) The food here is absolutely excellent, always freshly made and very tasty. The chef is so sweet, always doing his best to satisfy my (many!) requests. The safaris and tours were also lovely experiences, as the parks in the area have lots to offer. I recommend taking the time to visit Tikauli and the 20k lake. I also enjoyed walking around the rural village and talking to a few locals who seem to adore foreigners. In general, I would imagine staying here about 5 days is enough to tick all the touristy stuff of the list... unless - like me - you're not in a rush about seeing this and that, maybe you work online and enjoy taking some time away from more mundane life.. then stay as long as your heart feels and discover how wholesome it is to become a Tiger Wildlife family member ! Green Chwadi felt like a little paradise for me. The surroundings are beautiful and it's right in nature. The staff is so incredibly accommodating, they made me feel like a princess and always took care of my needs. They also had different activities on offer, and I chose the jungle walk, Jeep Safari and boat trip, and a cultural night with the Tharu people. It was such a once in a lifetime experience! They also took me on different side trips in the area and I got to meet locals and saw how they live. The rooms are decorated so nicely with artwork from local artists. The food was all organic and very good, and even though I have a lot of food restrictions (vegan, glutenfree), they always created little varieties for me. With part of the benefits, the nature retreat supports the school next door, and the locals in the area, which is auch a nice bonus. You can really feel how everyone involved pours their heart into this and that's what makes the difference. I left Green Chwadi so relaxed and centered, and wish I could've stayed longer! :-)

Super positive experience 3 great reason to stay here. 1st - the staff was so trusting and helpful to help in booking the jungle tours in advance. They can arrange everything from jungle walk, jeep safari, cultural tour, bus booking to kathmandu, pre-packed breakfast and short commute via tuk tuk to chitwan city. And best of all the price is super reasonable. 2nd - the calmness of the resort especially viewing the river at anytime of the day. If you want a good connection with nature, river and appreciate some silence from heavy music. This is the best place to be in. It has limited units of cabins, which means less number of humans. And they have several sheltered verandahs for one to sit and appreciate the river view. It feels tranquil , peaceful and nature feel. 3rd - the jungle walk is a must and highly recommended. We are accompanied by 2 guides who brought us to canoe river trip followed by jungle walk resting in several tree top inside the jungle. For us who are rather unfit, we think half a day especially noon to evening will be good enough for the walk. We took the full day and recorded 26K steps for the day , feeling rather tired at th end of day. The evening jungle walk was an adventurous one as we had a close encounter in spotting a wild rhino from a distance. The guide prioritised safety and got us to leave together once we got a nice shot of the rhino on phone. Walking on safari observing animals that might pop up amidst the sunset view at the safari was a truly memorable one. Please do leave a tip to the guides as they are really dedicated professional and nice.

We had a lovely stay at Tara’s guesthouse. Vicky & his team were so accommodating and provided us with lots of information about the town. We ended up booking our canoe & Jeep Safari with Taras guesthouse. The prices are competitive & it was comforting to know we were only supporting ethical operations. The room is basic but more than what you pay for. Overall we were very impressed.

As birdwatcher I love the location. Next to the river between old trees. I collect 40-50 species of bird in one day just in the radius of this facility I like atmosphere and original acomodation and staff is just great, frendly and professional. .

beautiful location close to the Jungle. the staff was very attentive and helpful. I would definitely recommend going there. we enjoyed our stay, the jungle safari and the food. we would definitely come again. maybe you could skip the canoeing if you did the safari before. but loved the safari saw rhinos, beers, deers, monkeys, elephant, peacocks, crocodile and so much more :)

We had an absolutely amazing stay at Hotel Jungle Crown! The location is perfect, nestled close to nature yet easily accessible. The rooms were spacious, clean, and extremely comfortable. What truly stood out was the warmth and hospitality of the staff. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with genuine smiles and a warm welcome. Despite our late arrival, the team patiently waited for us at both dinner and breakfast, always cheerful and accommodating. A heartfelt thanks to them for going the extra mile to celebrate my parents’ anniversary—with thoughtful room decor and a surprise cake that made the occasion truly memorable. This was easily one of the most warm and welcoming stays we’ve ever had, and we are already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Chitwan!
