I never walked into a guest house where it felt such like home immediately. Mostly thanks to the warm, friendly and helpful staff. Besides that the guesthouse has a cozy living and dining room and a kitchen with everything you need. I wish I could have stayed longer, but will definitely try to come back one day. Thanks everyone of Casa Qatzij for making this stay very special.

Very friendly staff and I believe a family run business. Rooms were more then big enough and consistently had hot water. We were offered a room clean and additionally free access to kayaks. Basketball court was an added bonus and provided plenty to do when not exploring the town. Finally there is 2 very friendly dogs we liked. They do have there own area if you were afraid of them however.

Hotel El Picnic is truly a gem at Lake Atitlán! From start to finish, our experience here was nothing short of exceptional. The accommodation is situated on a hillside, offering breathtaking views of the lake—a sight you’ll never forget. The open tent experience, where you can sleep under the stars with an incredible view of the water, was undoubtedly the highlight of our stay. The food here is fantastic—fresh, flavorful, and made with love. A special mention goes to the homemade bread, which is a true delight. There’s also an on-site beer garden and bakery, adding to the charm of the property. The owners Gaby & Jochen are wonderfully friendly and always available to help, making us feel at home throughout our stay. The property is nestled in the heart of nature, offering peace, tranquility, and a unique connection to the environment. Another rare and much-appreciated feature in Guatemala is the availability of hot water—a small luxury that makes a big difference. Lastly, everything is impeccably clean and well-maintained, showing the care and effort the owners put into every detail. The Sunset Lodge was a paradise for my partner and I. The view of Lake Atitlan from our room was breathtaking, and the room itself was our own little oasis. The in-house chef made the best plant-based meals we'd ever had, and we got to see fireworks across the lake while we had dinner. We were actually sad to leave the Sunset Lodge after two nights, because this place truly felt like home. We felt so safe and the staff was so friendly. We got to use the private kayaks, we got to swing at the end of the private dock, and we were able to use the boat taxis to visit other villages around Lake Atitlan with ease. We will definitely be returning to Sunset Lodge in the future, and we will cherish our memories there forever.

The staff are wonderful - so friendly and welcoming. The rooms and facilities are excellent (spacious, clean and tidy), fully-equipped kitchen, complementary coffee and towels, really comfortable beds.

Great new house with the best lake views. Full furnished kitchen, everything you need and great host Nico! Property is safe and owned by a local. Warm water, aqua pura, fridge, all is there. Easy to take a tuktuk to towns around. Highly recommended when visiting the lake. Niko organized pizzas for us when we arrived late!
