We had a wonderful stay at The Bird in Hand Inn. It is everything you could hope for in a cosy cottage pub escape. The décor is spot on with beautiful furniture, a gorgeous bathroom, and all wrapped up in a charming old building that oozes character. Even our dog was spoiled with snacks and I kid you not his own tea. The pub downstairs is a gem in itself serving a truly excellent dinner. Sadly we had to miss breakfast due to an early departure but that just gives us the perfect excuse to come back.

I had great communication from Sofya from the moment we booked and she had confirmed our arrival time. She let us know there was no time pressure and provided us with the code. After a long day out exploring we had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful annexe. It was very clean and even all the small things like milk in the fridge were thought of. The hosts had provided something to entertain my son which was very kind and then we enjoyed watching a movie before bed on the sofa. The bedding and towels were clean and smelt amazing and again they had provided everything for a comfortable stay. The sofa was super comfy and my son had a good nights sleep. The location was quiet which made for a peaceful nights sleep and the bonus of a parking space out front so no need to worry about our car. The kitchen area was well equipped with everything you would need and the hosts had provided some essentials for breakfast which we thought was a lovely touch as I had forgotten to grab something at the shop. Overall it was great and when discussed about our next trip down to the area we both didn’t hesitate to say we would stay again.

    Beautifully redecorated rooms - modern yet carefully thought out with respect to the age of the building. We felt very comfortable. The pub also does great food. And we appreciated how dog-friendly it was. Our dogs in turn appreciated the welcome and having nice walks on the doorstep.

    Our favourite little gem stop-off after our long journey south on route to visit family in Dorset. Dog friendly,, a tad quirky, great food, ambience and atmosphere. We love it, our fifth stay in pàst three years. Will not be our last.

    Exceptional little pub in the countryside. Beautiful dog friendly self catering cottage as well as rooms above the pub. Comfy beds, cosy woodburner, well equipped kitchen. The pub serves excellent food and has genuinely friendly and attentive staff. Highly recommended
