The staff at the Inn were very friendly and made it a welcoming environment on arrival. It was cosy, comfortable and well located (not too far from Dartmoor National Park) in a beautiful area . It was convenient to have access to the restaurant (worth booking a dinner reservation in advance as advised). Parking was readily available (paid lot across the road if you don’t want to park in the street). The complimentary breakfast was a nice addition. Our room was well represented by the photos.

We stayed New Years Eve. We had booked a room and advised we were vegan. We had the most fantastic meal, so many courses, such great flavours. The chef asked what sort of food we liked in advance and the meal was superb. We will be back. The staff team were attentive and very nice. We felt well looked after.

The location was perfect., quiet and hiking just in front of the door. The garden room was lovely, clean and we appreciated the tea, cookies, coffee and hot chocolate very much. The bed was very comfortable and the shower had great pressure. The garden is beautiful. Lots of space and enough chairs and tables to sit and relax. The food in the pub was really nice and the breakfast hamper perfect. We hope to be back soon.

    The breakfast choice was amazing and delicious. The staff were attentive and very friendly. We also had supper which was also very delicious. Great touches for my dog who also stayed with water bowl and goodie bag in the room. The location was very beautiful in Lydford.

    Location was our drawcard to this place. What we found there was excellent customer service, lovely breakfast, excellent dinner, all food ingredients sourced locally, plenty of parking over the road, clean rooms, and good dog exercise areas next door in the castle grounds. It's great to find excellent dog friendly places. Book your dinner reservation early, as they are so very popular with locals and holiday makers from the nearby camping areas.

    Perfect little cosy cottage/ barn. Just right for hiding from the world and gloomy weather but also in a great location for walking and day trips out to various places. The Castle Inn pub down the road was fantastic. Dog friendly and does a great steak. Lydford Gorge is stunning.

    Lovely location set in beautiful Devon countryside. Pub, restaurant and accommodation absolutely excellent. The staff were friendly and totally committed to making you feel welcome and comfortable. It really was outstanding. Dog friendly too.
