It is a nice old building which is very Swiss and we appreciated that aspect. The room was clean and comfortable. We had a balcony with seating to enjoy right above the creek. We didn't stay in Lauenen that long as we were heading out the next day on a hiking trip but the hotel was located in a place where it was easy to walk to or catch the bus to other locations nearby. Location was near a stream which was very nice to hear in the background. The views of the mountains were spectacular. Overall I got value for my money.
