Our three-night stay at Mailagama Cinnamon Residence was a delightful and perfectly situated experience for exploring Yala National Park. Raj, the manager, truly made our visit special. He was incredibly helpful, arranging two full-day safaris with an excellent driver and comfortable 4x4 jeep, and even gave us a fascinating tour of the property's cinnamon plantation. The residence's proximity to a quieter entrance of Yala's Block 1, just 30 minutes away, was a significant advantage. Each morning, they thoughtfully prepared delicious and plentiful breakfast and lunch packs, ensuring we were well-fed for our early safari starts. Our top-floor room was spacious, comfortable, and offered stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. With amenities like air conditioning and a TV, it was a relaxing haven after a day of wildlife spotting. Dinners were Sri Lankan food like string hoppers and kottu roti. We highly recommend Mailagama Cinnamon Residence for its outstanding hospitality and ideal location for a Yala safari.

We did the full day safari and it was a great experience! We saw so many amazing animals. We cannot recommend this place enough. The family is so kind and the service is excellent. The room is also very clean and comfortable with high quality Aircon.

My family had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay at Farm Villa Resort. The staff were extremely helpful, kind, and cooperative, always ready to assist with a smile. The rooms were spotless, spacious, and had a beautiful view of the paddy fields — waking up to the sounds of birds was such a peaceful experience. 🐦🌾 We absolutely loved the Sri Lankan breakfast — so authentic and delicious! The food overall was just awesome, and we even enjoyed picking fresh mangoes straight from the garden — such a lovely touch! 🥭 The resort's large swimming pool was perfect for relaxing, and the overall environment was clean, serene, and beautifully maintained. A big thank you to the management for keeping the property and surroundings neat and inviting. The location is also ideal — very close to Yala National Park, and we had an unforgettable Yala Safari experience. We also visited the sacred Kiri Vehera Temple, which was just a short drive away. I truly felt like part of the Farm Villa Resort family, and I already look forward to visiting again. Highly recommended for anyone looking to relax, explore, and enjoy genuine Sri Lankan hospitality!

Menawarkan pemandangan gunung, Redstone Cottage Gal Oya di Galgamuwa mempunyai penginapan, taman, teres, restoran dan bar. This was honestly one of the most welcoming and thoughtful places we’ve ever stayed. From the moment we arrived, Sydney and his team looked after us so well. The chef asked what we fancied and was very accommodating. He cooked the most amazing curry, lunch and honey hoppers for breakfast (which we were introduced to and absolutely loved). They even gave us a packed lunch for our elephant boat safari, which they organised, along with a great driver. There were little extra touches that made such a different, like beers in the fridge when we arrived (and they went to get more when we ran out), a cooking class with a local family, a really interesting forest walk with an indigenous guide and when we asked if we could do some laundry they sorted it for us with no trouble at all. The cottage is in a beautiful, quiet spot with amazing Mountain View’s, a perfect place to switch off. Would highly recommend supporting this amazing project. Such a great experience 😊😊

The guesthouse is in such a beautiful location near forest and paddies and mountains, completely at one with nature. Our host, Charlie, as well as his wife and mother were the most kind and friendly hosts. After learning it was our honeymoon they got us a cake and balloons and candles to celebrate which was so thoughtful of them. The food there was wonderful - all home cooked with homegrown ingredients (you can see where they grow their cinnamon, pepper, vegetables, rice and so much more). Charlie also was an excellent tour guide as well, taking us to a water safari in Gal Oya, and up the nearby mountain (that was so stunning, you definitely should go. There are rice paddies, tea plantations and the most beautiful views in the region). He also took us to a nearby waterfall with natural pools that was stunning, and we were the only ones there. There are so many more things to do, we wished that we could have stayed longer, and would really like to come back. It's such an underrated region but will recommend to everybody to visit. The room itself was lovely and spacious with a separate living area and even a kitchen if we wanted to use it. We also loved the little treehouse to sit and enjoy the view and take in all the sounds of the nature around. Oh, and usually we would expect mosquitos when staying somewhere so rural but there were no mosquitoes at ALL. Neither of us wore repellent and we didn't get a single bite... That is unheard of for us. We recommend this place so highly - stay!
