Thambu Illam is a lovely, atmospheric colonial villa in a quiet area of Jaffna. Our double room was simple, but comfortable and there were plenty of areas outside the room - verandahs, garden, interior patio - to sit and relax. Even though the guesthouse doesn't have its own kitchen, the food we ordered through the guesthouse and which the staff served in an open pavillion by the swimming pool was delicious and authentically Sri Lankan. We'd also like to highlight the wonderful treatment we received from the helpful and attentive staff. Among other things, they arranged several tuk tuk rides for us with the incredible Prasath, as well as onward transport.

A home stay that truly felt like a home stay. Allen suggested places to go and places to eat which were all good. The porch overlooking the garden is very relaxing. We would highly recommend staying here and visiting Jaffna for minimum 3 nights as there is a lot to see.

We ended up staying here for a week because it was such a wonderful place to relax. The location is excellent for exploring the local area which is very beautiful and a welcome change of pace to the south of the island. We have been in Sri Lanka for 3 months and this was definitely the best accommodation we stayed at. We got regular messages from the host Kam checking everything was ok and if we needed anything. If your looking at exploring the Jaffna peninsula, I would highly recommend staying here.

The house owner Mr Biren Mahendran is very cooperative when booking the house. And the location is very peaceful, beautiful and secure. Well sufficient for a family or a group. Rooms are well cleaned and furniture are modern. Having a modern kitchen with all the necessary equipment. Really enjoyed the stay. The caretaker Mr Kerthi was very much helpful and he's fluent in Sinhala and English. Worth the money. Located in 550m away from Jaffna-KKS road and 9.5 Km away from Jaffna.

Rose Fort Homestay terletak di Jaffna, 3.4km dari Kuil Nallur Kandaswamy, 5.3km dari Jaffna Railway Station, dan juga 6.1km dari Jaffna Public Library. Lovely, cosy spot in Jaffna. Clean accommodation with great air conditioning units in each bedroom. Kaja and his family went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our time in Jaffna. He also had great recommendations for tours and things to do both in Jaffna and other parts of Sri Lanka. Not quite walkable into town due to dogs and traffic but was a short and cheap tuktuk drive away to the main attractions.
