My partner and I stayed two nights in Glimra Eco lodge and this was a true pleasure. Roshani and her husband are such amazing hosts and so helpful, it couldn’t be any better. They did everything to make our stay memorable. From cooking delicious meals, to arranging a safari for us in Udawalawe, which is cheaper compared to the usual prices. Roshani also took us to a place nearby to see the beautiful sunset from up above a hill. The views from the ecolodge are amazing. One morning we could even see an elephant having a bath on the other side of the lake!

Located in a peaceful village off the tourist track. Scenic lake and nice place to bathe just minutes away. A few restaurants and shops are also within walking distance.

Little paradise hidden in the forest. Sit on the veranda and spot the animals passing by. Nicest and most helpful host you can imagine.

Great service, generous staff and great location. . Great safari jeep with a young talented driver. explored whole udawalawe park.

Everything was excellent! Too bad we stayed just for one night.

It was a pleasure to stay at Leel's Safari Cottage! Leel, Nameli and Leel's Mother are such heartful persons, we had a lot of fun together! The rooms are very new and have a nice view to the garden which is wunderful! Make the Safari Tour with Lee, he has very good knowledge, and gives his best to give you the most special experience. He showed us so many animals! Also the food his mother and wife are cooking is very delicious! His taxi driver sameera is also great.We highly recommend this place, and hope we come back soon! It was the best stay in Sri Lanka but not the most expensive. Everything was clean, new, well mentained and functional. The host picked us up at the bus stop when we arrived and droped us off for free to another further junction when we left. When we went to our room, they already made the tea waiting for us. Also we had 2 bottles of water. Hot shwer worked well. For this price it was really like a true 4 star hotel. The room design was simple and elegant. Even though there was no air con, yhe night was cool. We really enjoyed this place! We booked the safari tour as well :) We had to leave earlier so we didn't take the lunch there. (USD 7 per person by the way)

We had a beautiful stay at Amba Kola, a slice of paradise in the Udawalawa jungle. We originally booked for 1 night but as soon as we arrived we were so warmly welcomed and loved the look and feel so much that we extended our stay. Janik and his family were incredible hosts, they treated us like family. Amba Kola is perfectly located on the edge of the National Park, which made it super easy to access safari tours. Tours are available to book onsite with their recommended tour guide, who we found to be so helpful, spoke very good English, and was amazing at spotting all of the wildlife on safari and relaying information. We saw many elephants as well as peacocks, deer, crocodiles, chameleons, iguanas, and so many different species of birdlife. Our room at Amba Kola was very relaxing and comfortable, we really loved the extra touch of an outdoor shower. We had the best food of our whole trip during our stay here, it truly was amazing. Janik’s mother, Mama Swarna, makes beautiful authentic home cooked meals, made from home grown and locally sourced fresh ingredients, and served with love. We have not stoped raving about it yet! Mama Swarna is a top rated cook and also offers traditional cooking classes. Janik, Greshan, and Sanju were so warm and friendly from the moment we arrived. Some of the most generous and happiest people we have met. They went out of their way to show us many of the local sights, and were always checking in on us with a smile to make sure we had everything we needed during our stay. We loved spending time petting and playing with their lovely dogs and cats, chilling in the beautiful garden, and enjoying a cool beer of an afternoon while playing a game of chess before dinner. We would not change a thing about our stay, every aspect was tastefully thought out and we enjoyed every moment, but the thing that really stood out and made our experience so special was being treated as part of this beautiful family.

Really good place! Clean room, good ac, really good bed and sheets + blanket!! The staff was helpfull and they did book Safari for us and made things easy. 10/10
