We loved our stay at Silk Island Homestay. A beautiful family sharing their beautiful home. A little slice of rural heaven in amongst the city hustle. The house is gorgeous and very well presented. Our host cooked us a bbq dinner and made us breakfast the next day. Delicious! We hired local bikes and rode leisurely around the small island and part of the big island. Lots of banana trees and beautiful flowers (similar to ones grown in Australia). The silk place was interesting to see silk being transformed from silk worm... We wanted to stay longer but had to get an early morning flight the next day. Highly recommend for a little adventure on the ferry across the mekong to this piece of serenity. - Very clean and spatious rooms with comfortable bed and great shower. Mosquito net above the bed which will protect you at night. - As the name suggests, the hotel gives you a Jungle vibe with many trees around the pool in the inner yard. The hotel is located in a relatively small street, making it very calm and quite, so you don’t really notice you’re in a big hectic city once inside. - As a guest of Jungle Addition, you can make use of the rooftop pool at the neighboring Penh House hotel (which has the same owner). This allows you to experience both the rooftop, while having a more authentic/boutique style room at Jungle Addition. - The hotel is nicely located in the center of Phnom Penh. Very close to many tourist attractions such as the Royal Palace.

I liked everything about the hotel, I have nothing but praise for the professionalism and curtesy of the staff, I did a lot of research for booking my holiday in Phnom Penh as this was my first visit. I most certainly made the right choice. The room was amazing with a wonderful view of the pool and Royal Palace exactly as advertised. The breakfast was exceptional with choices to suit any palate. The pool was fantastic and maintained to a very high standard, there are too many positives to list. This will not be my last stay at the Palace Gate Hotel and would highly recommend this hotel.
