One of the few places nearby Singasari Temple to stay... so one might be ready to settle on less than nice.. But Safira Family Residence was quite nice. Since it was a bit more basic than maybe some westerners would be used to, even after I booked the owners messaged me explaining they didn't have AC, and the bathroom was shared.. and if we wanted to we could cancel, no problem. But, since none of this was a problem (while E Java IS rather hot and so AC might sound like a necessity, Singahasari is higher up, and therefore cooler, and the fan was more than adequate). Also, although not just out of the city, but out of Singasari town, there were plenty of nearby restaurants and convenience stores, etc...

I enjoyed so much staying at this hostel! The room was comfortable, clean, the fountain in the common space gives such a nice vibe and the view from the rooftop terrace is so beautiful! The quarter is nice and peaceful, not really far from the city center. The staff are amazing, so kind, helpful and fun, helped me buy medication when I was sick! Also, a special thanks to Fara who brought me to visit Malang one afternoon and we had such a great time ! Thank you and take care guys !

We had 3 nights at Casa de Vie and it was very comfortable there. We even extended for 1 more day. The welcome was perfect and all the services, the room, the house itself is amazing. The hotel is so beautiful, inside and outside. We got a free room upgrade (17th floor Mountain View). Breakfast had so many options! waffles, pancakes, fried rice, eggs, etc. Staff was so friendly and helpful. When we did a night tour and came back in the morning at 11AM, room was already cleaned. Really compliments to the housekeeping, they folded all my clothes that we laying over the chair!! Perfect stay, I cannot say anything else (and I am quite picky).

Such a great place to stay in Malang! I came here with no plans and I found myself doing all the best activities during my stay, thanks to the owners Vico and Wiwin:) They have a lovely garden where you can chill, chat with other travels and also enjoy the free coffee that they provide. I did tour Bromo and Ijen organized by them with the friends I made here. Highly recommend; you will be accompanied by great people!
