The facilities were excellent, and I particularly enjoyed the sauna with red lights—it was the perfect way to relax after a long day of hiking. The location was amazing, with a stunning cliff and several caves just across the road. Unfortunately, I didn’t bring the right gear this time, so I could only explore two caves, but it’s definitely a reason to come back! The small waterfall and creek right outside the house were lovely touches, and during a morning walk, I even came across a hidden pond in the woods nearby. The outdoor BBQ area was another highlight—this place has everything for a perfect getaway. I’m already looking forward to returning in the summer to enjoy cave exploring, hiking, swimming, the sauna, and a BBQ under the stars.

Loved stepping into a cozy village pub great atmosphere of an evening and brilliant freshly cooked food. Also so dog friendly. I can’t wait to return with my pooch and sit by the fire again! Freshly cooked breakfast was brilliant value within the room rate also!

Where do I even start...it was AMAZING! The staff first and foremost were brilliant, starting with Sarah, who welcomed me with a huge smile and means to help in any way she could (like having my room ready a bit earlier than check in time or going through all there is to know about my staying), and then there was the lovely Allison at breakfast, so cheerful and sunny. I felt real love for the job from these two. The rest of the crew I didn't meat unfortunately. The room that I got was H-U-G-E and absolutely perfect in style and comfort. Bed was big and very comfy, the heating was just right, felt like home. Can't praise enough. That's exactly the way I would like all the hotels or RBNBs to be like.

Fabulous cottage. Very comfortable and characterful, beautiful location, well-equipped and much more spacious inside than it looks from the outside. There are lovely walks locally and the river Wye is just across the road. A pub a few minutes' walk away and it's just a few miles from Buxton. The supply of tea, coffee and milk in the kitchen was a nice touch.

I had a wonderful stay! The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. My room was beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious, with plenty of options to choose from. Not to mention the exceptional restaurant (listed in the Michelin Guide, which speaks for itself) and the beautiful Sunday roast I enjoyed. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Derbyshire!

    Perfect location, excellent communication with owner. Top quality fixtures, fittings and furnishings. Well equip kitchen. Welcome hospitality pack of milk, water and biscuits - always a lovely touch. Plenty of cleaning products, etc. Lots of local information on attractions and eating places. Even a mini printer (if needed). Patio windows opening to balcony. Plenty of car parking. Communal spaces within the property maintained to an excellent standard reflecting the quality of the property.

    Clean and had a well equipped kitchen. It was quiet and comfortable. The facilities for walkers, cyclists etc were excellent. There was plenty of car parking and electric chargers. It is a good location for visiting local attractions, waking etc and there are eating places you can walk to.
