I loved the style of the hotel, its uniqueness and the fact there is so much history in its walls. Very lovely place and beautiful garden facility with stunning seaside view 😍 Food was delicious but small evening menu. Breakfast with a sea view something worth a distance to come and experience. Great team of people I had a chance to meet. They do a lot of improvements too what is very nice to see.

This was a perfect stay for our walking holiday. A warm welcome, everything you could need for breakfast set out thoughtfully so you can help yourselves at a time that suits you. Relaxing in the lounge in the evening with a game of scrabble - absolutely marvellous. We loved it, thank you!

Lovely, cosy and well appointed holiday home. Clearly it has been recently renovated and looks great. Little extras were appreciated ( blue tooth speaker, charger, welcome wine and biscuits). Beds were very comfortable, we all slept so well. Great views, great location and great house. We hope to be back soon.

The Shepherd's Rest is the only and perfectly sized accommodation located at the top of a field where sheep, ducks and geese graze. The location at the top of the field ensures stunning views over Robin Hood's Bay. There is dedicated off-street parking. Upon arrival, the owner Mike met us on his quadbike and helped us bring our luggage up the hill. We were happy to walk up the hill while taking in the view. The accommodation had every comfort available. The showers were warm and powerful. There is a fridge/freezer and 2 point hob. The bed was a generously sized double bed with a double sized bunk. There is storage under the bed to hide away suitcases. We loved the accommodation, the location and the fact that we were the only guests. This accommodation was our favourite and we highly recommend staying in The Shepherd's Rest if you want to feel that your hosts actually care about providing you with a unique and memorable experience.

    Loved the location! French onion soup followed by melt in the mouth beef and a HUGE Yorkshire Pudding! Served by staff in white shirts n black waistcoats. White tablecloths! Plenty of parking.

    Good sized room with a great view over the bay. Staff were all very well presented, friendly and helpful, someone’s doing a good job with them. Very pleasant garden area and easy parking. Good food and excellent service in restaurant.

    The rooms were spacious and comfortable, all public rooms were dated, but very comfortable. The location was excellent with views across to Robin Hoods Bay and well-kept Gardens. Car parking is very good, as well as some friendly, helpful members of staff.
