I cannot recommend The Portland enough. The staff were very friendly & quick to meet anything asked of them. The room was stunning & facilities were so good. The food was delicious with a menu that would suit a varied guest list. It is a very short distance to shops, restaurants & cafes. Really enjoyed the beer garden & playing darts in a relaxed atmosphere. It was great value for money. Will definitely stay there again when visiting Ashington.

We liked everything, what a lovely cosy caravan... didn't feel like you were actually in a caravan. Had everything you need. The view was fantastic! Information from staff was fantastic! Very helpful. Very easy self check in . Wish we could have stayed for the week. Locals are so friendly and helpful. Extremely happy with our stay.

    Accommodation is in bungalows around the car park a short walk from the main pub - might be a problem if it were raining. Room and bed comfortable, Bathroom needs a little more thought - towel rails and shelf for toiletries would help. Basically clean but mould on shower head and pipes behind sink need attention. Food was very good - once it came! It must have been 45 minute from ordering to arrival at dinner. Breakfast very good and freshly cooked to order (not hanging about on a buffet) but no decaf coffee at all.
