I had a wonderful stay at Hosteria Rose Cottage. Mark and Rosa were excellent hosts, they were so friendly, welcoming and accommodating, they really went out of their way to make me feel at home. The hostel is nestled in the mountains less than a 10 minute drive out of Otavalo, the location is tranquil and the view is so inspiring. Evening meals are very reasonably priced at $8 for a wholesome home cooked meal plus a pudding, veggie options are available. I originally booked 2 nights but liked it so much that I booked an extra 2!

This hotel is as close to perfect as you can get. The staff were simply magnificent from Manager to Handyman. The historic building, the artwork and the rooms are exquisite. The food is the best we have experienced after 3 weeks travelling through Ecuador.

It's a beautiful space with charming little nooks and crannies inside the hotel. There is a lovely garden to sit and read or drink coffee, a sitting room, a breakfast room, purified water, and a calm vibe. Very friendly and attentive staff.

We enjoyed especially the food. It was really delicious. We stayed there for lunch and breakfasts. Both were amazing. The view is wonderful and staff is very dedicated to guests with good mood.

This is the best place that I've stayed at in all of Latin America. Apart from it being very economical, it is perfectly situated only a few meters from the centre on a hill with magnificent views, 360 degrees. I had a really nice room on the 3rd floor with beautiful mountain views and fast, stable WiFi. The bed and pillows are very comfortable, white sheets and plenty of blankets. The kitchen downstairs is massive and is the most equipped I've ever seen. The staff here are so kind and friendly that they go out of their way to help you. It's very peaceful and silent at night. The few dogs around rarely bark, and not for more than a minute or two during the day, so a perfect place to relax or work online.

Just across the street, there is a breathtaking view of the lagoon, which adds to the charm of the place. To top it off, the food was absolutely amazing – a true highlight of our experience.
