We had an absolutely wonderful time at Emily’s house! The house is not only beautiful and very cozy, but also perfectly equipped with everything you could possibly need – and spotlessly clean. We also enjoyed sitting outside on the terrace and simply taking in the peaceful atmosphere. What truly makes Velvet Fern Guesthouse special is the thoughtful and loving attention to detail: everything was personally and carefully prepared for our arrival, including a lovely breakfast and bikes we could use – such a kind touch! We felt welcome and at home from the very first moment. Thank you so much, Emily – we’d love to come back!

The room was spacious and comfortable, stunning view from our 4th floor window and it even had a coffee machine which was just a lovely touch. The breakfast was the best continental/hot breakfast combo options I experienced during my trip through Vancouver Island. They even had a pool which was such a treat after 2 weeks traveling. Loved the place. Stunning areas like Campbell River, Oyster River and Elk Falls are less than an hour's from there.

    The renovations are continuing but the works wasn't super noticeable, other than all the supplies stacked in the parking lot and the groups of workers hanging around the rooms...was a little uncomfortable, at times, having them watching me... The dual head shower is still great! Best pressure in a shower in any of the multiple hotels I've stayed in. New lobby layout looks good too...

    I was absolutely satisfied with my stay at Bayview! Everything was perfect, from the check-in reception, the cleanliness of the rooms, excellent wi-fi, the swimming pools, Easy access to parking lot and the comfort for those traveling with one-year-old babies. I will definitely stay at this hotel again.

    Location was good, right by the river walk and close to amenities and services. Room was a good size and beds, pillows were comfortable. Appreciated having breakfast included. Front desk staff accommodated a room change request from a ground floor unit with a view of the parking lot to top floor with a view of the river.

    Near new hotel so very clean and tidy. Great to have breakfast onsite included although it increases the room price even thought they say 'free breakfast'. Large range of options from cooked to toast and cereal. Very friendly staff. Two comfortable beds in our room. Free parking.
