Located in Ohakune at the foothills of Mt Ruapehu, Rocky Mountain Chalets Ohakune provides home away from home accommodation with own parking and decks plus private in room free Wi-Fi with smart TV's. Some chalets have mountain views. We have a 16 person meeting room, access to 3 deep soak hot tubs, infrared sauna and a vending machine for drinks and snacks plus a Bike washing station. All the amenities were functioning and excellently maintained. The room size was superb. The apartment's location was excellent. The hot tub and sauna were really nice. There were plenty of nice restaurants , convenience stores and attractions nearby. Parking was available and convenient. The staff members were attentive and helpful and gave us some great tips for sightseeing and shopping.

Some suites have a spa bath. I stayed here for almost three weeks in late 2023 and it was perfect for my needs. This is a very well-run motel. The hosts are professional, friendly, and very responsive to any requests. They obviously care about guest satisfaction and comfort. The room was very clean and quiet. There is a well-equipped kitchenette and a good-sized TV with many channels. The bed was very comfortable and I slept well the entire visit. The location is excellent because it is directly across the road from the Esplanade which is a fantastic urban park with natural bush, formal gardens and lots of walking paths and track, and also (for families) a large playground and wading pool for kids. There's a bus stop right at the gate and it's only a few minutes ride to The Square and the Plaza shopping center. I'm very happy to have chosen Harringtons for my stay and I would not hesitate to stay here again.
