Mr Kushala and his wife really care about their guests – their homestay is incredibly clean, in a big beautiful house on a hill 5mins outside te busy traffic of Kandy's main streets. There are all kinds of fruit trees in the yard and you'll see monkeys and squirrels in the trees, and if you're lucky be lulled to sleep by the gentle chattering of the fruit bats. My room was spotless and had a lovely balcony that looked out into the trees, so peaceful and a great spot for a calming tea. The breakfasts were outstanding, so huge and delicious and different every day, as were the dinners I ordered. You really become part of the family. And Mr kushala is very willing to give you lifts to or from the station, or do a tour to where you want to go around or outside of town. Love seeing how much passion they have for Kandy and Sri Lanka!

My stay at Danisco Leisure Bungalow was spectacular. The family made me feel like home from the very first moment. I was alone so finding such lovely host is really a treasure. The rooms are incredible, all the furniture is brand new and the attention to detail is incredible. The air conditioning is a game changer. Also, the food is something I could never forget. The location is perfect if you want to relax by the pool in a very safe and quiet area but at the same time you want to explore Kandy during the day. Higly recommended!

It gives you something that can't be described but can be truly felt (in Australia we would say "it gives you all of the feels"). Fair to say we adored FTE. We travelled as a party of 5 (myself & my husband, our 6 month old daughter and my parents) and were so gently and warmly cared for throughout our 4 nights stay. Service was effortless and the food was generous, delicious and complex in all the right ways. We found value for money to be exceptional in comparison to all other properties during our Sri Lankan adventures. Thank you Flame Tree for your hospitality. We can't wait to meet you again soon.
