From the moment I arrived I felt so welcomed and cared for. The hotel is charming, cozy and beautifully renovated but what truly made my experience unforgettable was the people. The wonderful girls working there, Jessica and Viviana, were incredibly warm, attentive and thoughtful. They went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable, even taking the time to show me around the city and walk me to nearby places at night so that I felt completely safe. The owner, Alex, was equally wonderful and welcoming and he made me feel at home right away. Every detail, from the cleanliness of the rooms to the personalized attention and the delicious breakfast with fresh natural juices, exceeded my expectations. This 4-star aparthotel offers a 24-hour front desk and full-day security. The aparthotel has family rooms and facilities for disabled guests. Very well kept, clean and comfortable. Eggs, ham, cheese and fruit are delivered every day. Bed was comfortable along with pillows. Water is hot through the modern showering system. No dining facilities but literally steps from great restaurants. Joz attended to anything you needed...nothing was too much trouble. We even had hot croissants the day we left as we were leaving really early. Highly recommended!

At the hostel, every room is fitted with a patio. My only regret about visiting Alausi was not staying longer. I first came to hike the Nariz del Diablo which I highly recommend if you want spectacular views, but would have stayed for the small town, the food, the people and the Community Hostel. Don Marco was nothing but welcoming, making me feel right at home, in this beautiful property he has. The rooms were spacious and the breakfast really good. If you have time you can even sit down and chat with him around a cup of tea and a couple cookies. While there I suggest to go eat at La estacion del tren, you might even run into Don Marco eating lunch there. Everyone that I met took the time to chat with me. It is truly the best experience I’ve had so far in Ecuador!
