Located in the Assegaay Nature Reserve just outside the town of VanWyksdorp, Rooiberg Lodge features an outdoor swimming pool and on-site restaurant all surrounded by the Rooiberg Mountain Range. This is a beautiful place, nicely remote from the real world! The food was excellent - great quality, taste and value. Excellent service from all we encountered. We’d recommend visitors go on the nature drive… so much to learn about the beautiful Karoo. Great to be escorted by such an enthusiastic guide! Another highlight was the pool - in such beautiful surrounds, and made even more magical by the evening visit of the zebra and various bucks to graze. We’d love to return!

Sanbona Wildlife Reserve is an authentic and contrasting natural space, conveniently located along Route 62, a mere 3.5 hours from Cape Town in the arid Little Karoo. Everything is amazing, well thought. All the amenities, rooms, staff, amazing landscape, amazing tent, nice game drives. Good food.
