The rooms are very spacious and nicely designed. I really liked the garden and swimming pool area (very relaxing!). Casa Cactus Buenavista has a great location to explore places like Bacalar, Los Rapidos, Mahahual. Regarding food, the host can prepare it for you if you order in advance (it was so delicious!!!). You can also visit a local restaurant located few minutes on foot from Casa Cactus (there is also an option to have it delivered). Close to Casa Cactus there are also local shops with food, honey, souvenirs. Wifi signal was strong and available everywhere (not only in rooms). Jay and Sebastian are fantastic hosts. They took care of us so well. I felt like at home :) I truly recommend Casa Cactus Buenavista and will definitely go back when I am in Mexico again.

Also in front of cabañas theres a spot on the beach where everyone can rest and go in. Since restaurants own every part of the beach 😅 Theres also free bikes from the property I definitely come back and stay here again! Thanks

The location on the lake was lovely. The breakfast was really nice and different each day which was nice. The staff was very nice, although we don’t speak very much Spanish we used google translate for the things we didn’t understand. But they were kind and helpful. Beautiful sunrises and the moon reflecting on the lake was beautiful.

I would go there again for the fantastic location on the beach. It is a minimalist experience, close to nature and to things which are important in life. Don't go there if you look for a cheap alternative to a 5-star hotels - that won't work.
