From our room, we saw a double rainbow stretching across the sky—one of those rare, magical moments that made the already stunning view even more unforgettable. Every sunrise and sunset felt like a gift. What really made our stay so special, though, was the owner. When we had a medical situation, he personally took us to the hospital—no questions asked. Throughout our visit, he went above and beyond, even for the smallest things. He helped with genuine care, always doing his absolute best, and you could feel how sincere he was. The food was another highlight. It wasn’t fancy or over the top—it was just really good, honest cooking made with love. Every meal felt comforting, like something you'd hope for after a long day. This place isn’t just a hotel—it’s a place where you feel truly looked after. We’ll always remember it.

For us it was an amazing week that we did not expect the peace of the place, and the ease of getting around. Asela drove us to Kandy any time, we didn't know is was so close, and the drive so easy. It was actually nicer for us to be out of the city and Ascela took us around at a very low cost, we used messaging and always on time to meet us. Restaurants are interesting in town but we enjoyed eating at the home-stay because the food was very very good & healthy, such a beautiful place to look over the valley & their own vegetable & herb garden! We liked going on walks, magnificent views, and Asela actually gave us a little hiking tour! In Kandy, there are tourists like us- at Tedro we had privacy, but also felt part of the community when we took walks. There is a TV but we never used it. We will be back, some day, and we do recommend this precious experience to anyone that wants good food, good sleep (the bed is great, view is really nice) access to town& the sights. In fact, we ended up going on a longer excursion to Siguria with Asela as our driver! He kindly got us there and back safeley, and gave us a lot of space for personal privacy as we did our own exploring. He is a very good guide and his family - downstairs from the room & porches - is respectful.

Menawarkan teres dan pemandangan gunung, Solitary Cottage Dunhinna terletak di Teldeniya, 25km dari Stadium Kriket Antarabangsa Pallekele dan 38km dari Stadium Bogambara. This place was just amazing, best part of our Sri Lankan road trip! It’s situated high up in the mountains with beautiful views and no people around. It’s so peaceful. I wish we could stay for weeks. The cottage is so comfy and well equipped. Erik, the owner, is great. He speaks really good English, always replies right away and organises anything you need. We had an old car and had hard times driving in the mountains so he organised parking spot for as and tuk to take us to the cottage. He also organised great guides to take us to Knuckles five peak trek. There is a dog Rocky who is super cute and friendly, making sure you’re safe during your stay. I highly recommend to order rice and curry too, it was so delicious!
