A stovetop and kettle are also provided. It was great staying here. A little kitchen with everything you need. Nice morning sun on the terrace, and great beds. Hokkoma Aso Private cottage 1棟貸しコテージ南阿蘇, a property with a garden and a terrace, is located in Aso, 35 km from Egao Kenko Stadium Kumamoto, 45 km from Suizenji Park, as well as 46 km from Hosokawa Residence Gyobutei. This lodge provides free private parking, room service and free WiFi. The cottage was very comfortable, quiet, clean, and spacious. The kitchen was well appointed and if there was something we needed that wasn’t supplied we just had to ask Mayumi the owner.

Yakusugi Land is 17 km from the lodge, while Shiratani Unsuikyo is 28 km away. Yakushima Airport is 7 km from the property. Place was exceptionally clean. Ideally located, 3 minute walk to bus station. Owner was very helpful and ordered breakfast and lunch packs for our Cedar trail hike to Jomon. The food packs were delivered to our door steps by 4:30 am to be ready for our all day hike.

The restaurant at the lodge specialises in European cuisine. The houses are very comfortable and well equipped. We absolutely loved Japanese breakfasts. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. My daughter absolutely loved the goat. Apparently it is not a very easy to tame goat but after 2 days and some carrots it licked her hand ;)

We enjoyed a private onsen before an outstanding multi-course Japanese/French dinner. One of the best meals of our trip. This was followed with the host treating guests to star/planet viewing in his observatory. The room was simple but very spacious and comfortable. The grounds were well maintained with a beautiful and peaceful view. It felt like a destination on its own right and it is very convenient for visiting several nearby national parks. With google translate it was very easy to communicate with the host. Our stay was a very special experience and is a highly recommended stay in central Kyushu.

The kitchen is equipped with everything: microns, stove, crockery. The owner came to pick us up and take us to the airport. It is a bit far from the center (25 minutes on foot). Recommended
