Norem, Esteban and Valeria made us feel at home right away and went out of their way to accommodate us. Breakfast and dinner (with the hummingbirds around) were delicious, prepared to the point and with several dishes to choose from. The cabins are all new, very well designed and furnished, the bathroom with steady and immediate hot and cold water supply. A garden with a small trail are in the making and will make spending time in the crisp and clean mountain air even more worthwhile. We can highly recommend Curuba Lodge which became our favorite place in Costa Rica! Tip: Esteban can connect you with a few guides to see the rare and iconic Quetzal birds.

Trogon Lodge is located 1.5 km from San Gerardo de Dota town centre and 9 km from Los Quetzales National Park. It features an extensive garden, a terrace and BBQ facilities. The landscaping is an absolutely lovely blend of natural forest, river, and gardens. The staff is gracious and welcoming. Both the restaurant and bar are quite confortable.

Menawarkan pemandangan gunung, Cabañas San Gerardo di San Gerardo de Dota mempunyai penginapan, taman, teres dan restoran. We booked two nights here. The lodges were very sweet, cozy for two people. There was a queen sized bed and a single bed. There was hot water in the shower. The true highlight was the adjacent restaurant, Miriam’s Quetzals which belongs to the same owners. We arrived bit after 7 pm, when it closes however they offered us to stay for dinner, which we very much appreciated. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic, great dishes, excellent coffee and the view was simply amazing. They feed birds and so while having breakfast you can observe Colibris, tucans etc from up close!! We highly recommend. Also they do help organize guides for quetzal spotting, if desired. The area is great for hiking, nearby is a waterfall hike and further down the valley is the savegre area for longer hikes.
