    For sure is expensive to have a dinner there, but if you are...

    For sure is expensive to have a dinner there, but if you are lucky enough to be there in different time of the day/week you will be able to enjoy also as place to appreciate the view of the beauty Yeni Cami mosque (and Agia Sofia, if you are really lucky) or the Galata Kulesi tower (you should definitely climb the Yuesk Kedirm street) or just to enjoy a stroll between the fisherman. Do not rush in. Is probably the best place to enjoy not just Istanbul, but your all journey. I do not find a place like this in all my travelling around Europe. Hope you enjoy it.

    Yes, have the fish wrap but avoid buying chips. I still cannot believe my husband's plate of chips (as he does not like fish) cost us over €13. Daylight robbery. Also be prepared to be badgered by staff at each and every restaurant, who have virtually the very same menu.

    Upper tier buzzy with trams and hundreds of locals fishing. Lower tier has many restaurants. We ate there twice (once very good and fair prices, the other OK food but ridiculously expensive). Moral is do careful research and check prices, especially fish and drinks. Some places are very pushy.

    Avoid eating in one of these restaurants if you want to save your budget! Much better to try the experience of a fishbread on the nearby boats for as little as 50 turkish lira, a very live experience among local people. This makes the difference between a real voyager and a reach tourist

    We were a group of 6 people and everyone liked the hotel very much. Very nice and super friendly staff. Rooms were clean and bed comfy. Great location. Galata tower is 5-7 min away and in couple minutes more at galata bridge, many restaurants around. Breakfast was also good, we had everything we needed and they even prepared fresh scrambled eggs for free for us. Hotel is in a silent side street but your are in 20m at the main road. Just perfect.

    It's a short relative flat walk to Taksim square and you'll pass by Galata Tower. It's a 10 minute walk to the ferries that go all over the area. It's also a short walk to the Galata bridge. Cross over (walk or Tram ride) to Emununu where you'll find the spice Bazaar, Haiga Sofia and various other sites of interest. Please bring your hill climbing knees

    Best location in Istanbul, walking distance from all attraction in Sultanhamet, from the ferries for the Asian side and the Price's Islands and the Galata bridge to visit the Gold Horn. Right next to a lively street full of cafes and shops opened till late and much cheaper than in other areas of the city. The area is super safe also for solo travelers. The manager is available 24/7 for check-in/out and allows to leave suitcases there at any time. Rooms and bathrooms are spacious, not noisy and have well working AC and hot water.

    Highly recommend exploring the different neighborhoods by foot. We walked down to the ferries from our hotel and then hopped on a ferry over to another part of Istanbul (Üsküdar), Then walked around there, had lunch and then took another ferry to a different location (Käbatas). After exploring around there, we took a taxi to Ïstiklal street. We meandered down to Taksïm Square for people watching and then walked all the way to Galata Tower. We finished by walking across the Galata bridge and back through the Sultanahmet area back to our hotel, after stopping at a rooftop restaurant for dinner first.

    People can go to any restaurant, but before the order they must confirm the menu price. I found Asia side is not only cheap but you can get good quality restaurants. I advice try to avoid the fish restaurants under the Galata Bridge as they can trap you very easy.
