Hotels near Dongdaemun Municipal Library, Seoul

The breakfast and happy hour food were delicious, and the staff responded quickly to guests' needs, making everything run smoothly. Special thanks to Emma Lee and Summer Yu - their attention to detail, their professional service and friendliness made us feel at home. In addition, Eunyoung Kim (fitness center) was Eunyoung Kim was genuinely kind and helpful!

Comfortable bed. Large, bright room and all accessible kitchen items

The building is old but the hotel on this floor is brand new. Very nice with a lovely common area. The laundry machine and dryer were free to use. We didn't see staff but there was a binder on how to do everything and to reach someone if need be. You can also lock your bags in the hall to go out after you've checked out. There is a special number to get back in to get your bags The beds were large. Two queen size bunk beds with steps not a ladder. The toilet and shower were nice. There were two steps up to get to the shower and toilet. I guess for plumbing reasons. There is a small round table and a bench seat to sit and do work or watch TV. There is also a small desk and pull out stool for doing makeup and drying hair. A very nice setup. The hotel is RIGHT outside a subway exit. Literally steps away. Dongdaemun shopping is really close.

This hotel was super convenient – literally right in front of Dongdaemun Station Exit 7, and only a 4-minute walk from the airport bus stop (6002). The location is perfect for exploring – Cheonggyecheon Stream, Gwangjang Market, Chicken Soup Alley, Dongmyo, and the Yellow House are all nearby. At night, I loved walking along the stream, and the Dongdaemun night view from my room was gorgeous!🩷🩷🩷 The rooms are newly renovated, clean, and cozy. The beds were comfy, and having an elevator made it so much easier with luggage (last time I stayed at a hostel nearby, I had to drag my stuff up the stairs 😅). I loved all the free amenities – coffee machine (coffee was actually good!), ice, microwave, and even a ramen machine. There’s a self-service laundry too, and you can buy detergent at the front desk for ₩3,000. The staff were super kind, helpful, and spoke English, Japanese, and Chinese. They even helped me print something, which was so convenient.💛💛💛 Other perks: big TV with free Netflix, luggage storage, and a currency exchange/charging machine in the lobby. Plus, a convenience store and Lotteria right next door for quick snacks. Breakfast is free from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m., which was perfect for a quick and simple start to the day. Overall, I had such a great stay! Clean rooms, friendly staff, and an awesome location – I’d definitely stay here again and totally recommend it ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Prime location in the heart of dongdaemun. It is a 5 minute walk to all the main markets which makes it super convenient. The room itself was super clean with a comfortable mattress and sheets. The staff are very friendly as well and they were accommodating to all my needs. Highly recommend this hidden gem to all travellers!

We were three girls traveling together and booked their only apartment on the top floor. There’s no lift, but we honestly didn’t mind at all. The apartment was spacious, spotless, and newly renovated, with everything we needed (washing machine, separate toilet/bathroom, and daily housekeeping which was a lovely surprise). What truly made this stay unforgettable were the owners, Mr. Lee and his family. From the moment we booked, they were incredibly attentive. Jason messaged us before arrival to help with directions and luggage, and throughout our stay both he and Mr. Lee were always ready with tips, guidance, and checked in on us, whether it was late night or early morning. Their kind gestures went far beyond what you’d expect from a hotel. They even hosted a small chicken gathering for us on our last night, which was one of the highlights of our trip. Their warmth, thoughtfulness, and constant presence made us feel not just welcome, but at home. The hotel also felt very safe as the entrance is only accessible with your room key, and Mr. Lee would stay awake until all the guests had returned at night, which gave us so much peace of mind. The location is also excellent. Just a minute’s walk from Jongno 5-ga station, with buses right outside that take you across the city (Myeongdong was just one bus away). Dongdaemun is also a short, scenic walk along the stream. We felt completely safe returning late at night, and there are plenty of restaurants, cafés, convenience stores, and pharmacies nearby. Gwangjang Market is only a 5-minute walk. The building itself is well-maintained and thoughtfully designed, with cooling air conditioners on every floor, a clean and spacious rooftop terrace, and a welcoming lobby where tea, coffee, and biscuits are always available. But above all, it’s the people who made this place so special. Mr. and Mrs. Lee, along with Jason and Henry, go above and beyond in a way that’s rare to find.
