The property is absolutely breathtaking. Spotlessly clean and very tastefully designed and decorated. Manoji and her husband are exceptional hosts: Manoji’s thoughtfulness and care (and her cooking lessons!) made the space feel like home. Highbury is a short tuktuk ride away from the Gallery Cafe and Geoffrey Bawa’s Residence (No. 11). Would definitely return to Highbury if I’m ever back in Colombo!

Set in Colombo on a private peninsula by the banks of the historic Diyawanna Lake, Aathma Colombo House provides accommodation with a garden. I loved staying at this beautiful, proud, authentic and uncompromising Sri Lankan family home come hotel, finished as it was to the highest of standards and so very tastefully decorated, all risen up from the once lakeside bank. I was greeted by my courteous hosts on arrival, respectful of my long journey from the UK, and made to feel welcomed and comfortable right away. My accommodation was as described and expected; it was immaculate (cleaned twice during my stay of three nights) and more than adequate for my needs. The food was delicious; although breakfast was lovely, my evening meals have been the best I have had here so far, being especially well cooked and prepared, further enhancing my first-time-in-Sri Lanka experience. The hosts arranged local tuc tucs and drivers for me, usually at short notice, and we're always keen to help out, particularly with timings on my leaving day. I said that if I came to Sri Lanka again I would stay here again and I meant it. Thank you all for the quality of all of your services and your thoughtfulness throughout my stay.

Beautifully decorated room with a lot of taste and attention to detail. The host was so welcoming and such an interesting lady who happened to be an architect and who designed the place herself. The breakfast was great and served in a such a serene courtyard. The family has a little cute dog and that made us miss our own doggy. All in all, the perfect place to escape the noise of the city and enjoy some relaxing moments in an incredibly affordable luxury.

The houseboats are very well built and an amazing experience. Meals are very tasty and clean. Overrall an amazing experience. A must do for everyone visiting Colombo.

Everything! From the minute we entered, to the minute we departed to the airport, Mr Pradeep ensured we were comfortable at the stay. The apartment felt like home. It had everything we needed from kitchen cutleries, utensils to towels. All rooms were extremely clean and it was very spacious to be accomodated with a toddler. The best part of the stay was the Supervisor at the guard post! We will dearly miss him and will always remember his warm welcomes & the little chats we had. ❤️
