This is a fabulous cave hotel!!! Our room was incredible with a fabulous jacuzzi. You cannot beat the location. We looked at numerous cave hotels and decided with this one. It was just perfect! We highly recommend it.

Like the town of Matera is out of this world, and the accommodation made our stay even more enjoyable. The host kept in touch with us before our arrival. Once we arived, he welcomed us and gave us useful advice on the tour round the town as well as which restaurants were worth visiting. The room Gas a jacuzzi, which is just awesome. And what is more, our breakfast was delivered rught in fron of our room and it could be eaten in the bed or at the table. The room is also equipped with a coffee maker and a kettle so you can make tea or coffee anytime.

Set inside the Matera Sassi UNESCO site, Corte San Pietro is housed in a renovated historical building carved out of stone. It offers rooms with a private entrance and free Wi-Fi throughout. The best stay of our trip! Such a special place in the heart of the beautiful Matera. We were warmly welcomed after our taxi ride booked by the hotel. Anne explained us everything about Matera with great recommendations! She showed us to our beautiful room in an old matera house. The hotel has an amazing aesthetic that resonates well with the city. The breakfast is also very much appreciated with nice music.

Menawarkan bar, Vetera Matera terletak di Matera di kawasan Basilicata, 7-minit berjalan kaki dari Palombaro Lungo dan 300m dari Matera Cathedral. We absolutely loved our stay at Vetera Matera. We had a very late arrival, around 11pm, and the staff were beyond accomodating. Our transfer shuttle met us at the packing garage and the communication was seemless. Giovanni was at reception upon check in, and was an absolute delight. Francesco was also very helpful, with wine and snacks ready when requested even at such a late arrvial time. Both were so proud of the hotel and the area, full of great tips and lots of history about the hotel and the area. Our room was amazing, we had a terrace which was so great to see the view late at night. The breakfast was lovely too, and we were sad we were only there for one night! Can not recommend this hotel enough. A great location to discover the town, with the friendliest of staff! (Fillipe who carried our bags up and down those stairs and drove us back to our car was amazing as well).

Staying at MOYΣEION felt like stepping back into the world of Magna Graecia. The welcome ritual performed by Davide made the whole experience really special and set the tone for our stay. The service was outstanding, the staff incredibly helpful, and the cave pool was just breathtaking—my friend Pete especially loved the statues surrounding it. The togas, rituals, and attention to detail made the whole visit immersive and memorable. I also recommend booking an Ape Car tour through the front desk when you arrive—it’s the perfect way to explore Matera. Plus, if you call ahead, they’ll even arrange a pickup from the bus station, which is really convenient.

The host helped us change the room as the first one was smaller than our needs. It was clean and close to the tourist attractions. Breakfast was very good!

In the morning we walked down to the cafe on the ground floor where a buffet spread was laid out for breakfast, great selection of sweet and savoury.
