Hôtel & Spa Le Bouclier D'or is located in the historic La Petite France district in a 16th Century building, a 5-minute walk from Strasbourg Cathedral. This perfect little haven in the Petite France area of Strasbourg was an ideal base to explore this beautiful historic city. This renovated old building has everything - character, history, vintage furniture and modern facilities. We visited Strasbourg during the Christmas Market and while it was only a few minutes walk to the major market squares and the local restaurants, the immediate vicinity was pretty quiet - almost no vehicle traffic and just a few pedestrians, who mostly seemed to be taking their kids to the school opposite. We only saw one staff member (I’m sure there must be others) but he was very welcoming and informative, giving us good tips on where to go. We loved our room, which was very nicely furnished, but also had plenty of power points, a device charger on the desk and the most fantastic shower.

Nice to have access to a jacuzzi in the evening and the host left us a bottle of cremant in the fridge and we had special plastic glasses to be able to enjoy the drinks in the jacuzzi itself. I find this a nice touch!

One of the very best apartments we have stayed in, the village is Beautiful, ideally placed for a visit to Strasbourg and Colmar. Very well equipped with everything you could need. Very warm welcome when we arrived with very helpful information about area. Would definitely recommend, hope to visit for longer so we could use the pool.

Our hosts were very kind; they helped us with suggestions for visiting, even made reservations for us. The breakfast was good; it had many home made and local products. The beds were so comfortable and the coffee was delicious. We wish we could have stayed longer, but we left early for a sunrise hike. The hosts were so very kind and helped us locate the house when we couldn't find it.
